The bruteshot and chainsword met, making a terrible noise and wrenching the bruteshot from the Meta's hands. He then acted quickly, kicking against Ragnar's wrist while pulling out the knife from it's improvised holster. He crouched down over Ragnar, stabbing against his throat.

OoC: Well yes, it has a very low blast radius. Frankly I wouldn't want anything else in an assault weapon.

On another note, I've been playing the XCOM expansion the last few days. Two new features are making mechs and genemodding. With mechs, you chop off some poor bugger's limbs, then put him/her in a massive mech armed with a minigun and either a flamethrower or jet-powered fist of badass.
The genemodding means you can do stuff like give people two hearts or really good leg muscles, it's pretty cool. Not mech cool, but still.

I've heard some say on forums that this basically seems to be the beginning of 40k, although XCOM Earth would likely be purged by the Imperium if they discovered it. Reverse engineering is rampant, even the genemods use an alien substance and DNA!

"No. There's nothing else that's really of great importantance." Solaris responded, shaking her head lightly. "No, there's a single governing force, however, there are plenty who'd like to get to the top of this force." Having said that, Solaris stood up, and threw her hair before walking to the side of the table, and spreading her arms. "But that's enough socio-political talk for now. Let's see if we can't stir up some trouble, shall we?"

OOC: Argh, just when I thought I was about to put the final nail in the coffin of this geotech report, I realise that the conclusion requires me to actually put all that bullshit I just wrote into engineering context. Do I look like a fucking engineering geologist to anyone here?

Ragnar cursed, having hoped to take off the Meta's hand with that blow. He saw him going for the knife as he stamped down on Ragnar's sword hand, but grinned at the Meta's oversight. As the Meta came down on him with the knife raised, Ragnar extended his bolter with his other hand and fired point blank into his foe's face.

OOC: As I understand it, Ragnar was lying on his side. When the Meta blocked his bl;ow and kicked his arm away he would have been rolled onto his back. He still had his bolter in his trapped hand though. I'm guessing the Meta didn't notice/remember that?

I've seen the descriptions for the XCOM expansions and I can't wait. Can't get them here unfortunately, since I have neither the time, the money nor the Xbox to play them on. :\

Pix nodded a bit as she seemed to go into thought for a moment or two. [color=80bb00] .....This should be interesting to say the least. A new world... and plenty of new opportunities to experiment.... [/color] Slowly but surely, the girl's form began to vibrate, creating the buzzing noise once again.

As Solaris stepped to the side of the table and gave her the 'equip time' signal, the goo girl broke out of her thoughts and flowed onto Solaris, though a bit more slowly than usual. [color=80bb00] "Alright, I'm always up for some fun. Anything in particular you have in mind?" [/color] Pix's eagerness would be apparent as the vibrations were still occuring, though at a much slower speed.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta, having one hand free, grabbed hold of the bolter and pushed it sideways. It wasn't very elegant, and he was unable to do anything else than a roll over Ragnar, letting go off the bolter on the way. Getting back up into a crouch, he turned to face Ragnar.

OoC: @Random: Aw man, that sucks. On the plus side, you wont need the base game on xbox. Also you get the DLC.

 

[Random berk]

"Morkai's breath, just die!" Ragnar roared as he scrambled to his feet. Quickly moving to position himself between the Meta and his fallen bruteshot, he levelled his bolter with the foregrip braced on the back of his left arm, opening fire on the Meta with a series of short, accurate bursts.

 

[Chungus]

"Nothing in paticular yet." Solaris responded as Pix flowed onto her, a smile forming on her face at the feeling of the vibration over her body. She pickws up the glass and bottle of liquor, then began to walk towards the door. "Maybe we can do some subtle prodding, learning about what the equipment of the combatants is made of. Or maybe we can have another friendly fight, and try to have an unfortunate accident occur. We'll see." Opening the door, Solaris exited the room, and locked it after closing it behind her, then began making her way towards the lounge.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta saw Ragnar raise his weapon and rolled sideways, placing down a bubbleshield as he closed to the ground. The shield covered a rather large area, but deployed very quick indeed. The bolter rounds exploded against the surface and when the view cleared, Meta was gone.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar growled to himself and slammed a new mag into his bolter, racking the slide as he searched all around him to pick out some sign of the Meta, inhumanly sharp ears pricked for the slightest sound.

 

[Kirke]

About fifteen meters to the left of Ragnar, in the edge of water, a splash could be heard. Meanwhile, the Meta was actually moving around the right, or atleast he would if Ragnar concentrated fully on the decoy.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar snapped his head to the left, saw the ripples on the water and immediately noticing that they were the only ones. Levelling his bolter he snapped off two rounds straight at the position where the Meta should have been standing, and was rewarded only with more splashes as the shells failed to find a target. He began to pan his aim around again, focusing on the area near the pool and keeping alert for any further noises.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta took a grenade from his belt, and picked up a rock in his other. He then threw the rock high, it splashing down further out in the pool. A moment later, he threw the grenade at Ragnar's feet. He then ran towards the bruteshot, leaping forward and grabbing it in the middle of a roll.

OoC: This is a regular frag grenade, probably around a standard grenade of our time.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar saw the small splash from the rock and figured out what the Meta was playing at on the spot. Hearing the thud at his feet he whirled around to see the grenade and did the first thing he could think of- boot the grenade like a football, as far as he possibly could.

 

[Kirke]

The grenade flew away and exploded harmlessly, although some shrapnel flew across the arena. The Meta stood up, decloaking and firing a trio of grenades at Ragnar while running at him.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar groaned.
"Emperor-damned coward." Lowering his head and bracing himself, he charged like an enraged bull through the grenades, fighting to keep his balance as they exploded around and against him. Revving his chainsword, he uncoiled to his full height and bellowed as he closed with the Meta again.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta also charged headlong into combat, with his bruteshot held high with the point against Ragnar. If Ragnar attacked with his chainsword, he'd parry with it and then tackle Ragnar. If Ragnar did not attack with the chainsword, he'd stab against Ragnar's throat as they collided.

Either way, he'd be knocked back several metres after impact, Ragnar was much heavier than himself.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar slahed at Meta's face with the chainsword, charging flat-out.

 

[Kirke]

The Meta twisted his bruteshot, parrying the slash before getting thrown back. He flew back a few meters, landing on his back and sliding another two metres. He stabbed his bruteshot into the ground to slow himself down, then got back up.

 

[Random berk]

Ragnar kept the pressure on the Meta, charging into him with his chainsword flying as the Meta was getting to his feet.
