Selim winced as the first chimera bit into Nanami's arm, and her screaming, squinting his eyes, and looking away.
The chimera Nanami swung her spear towards was knocked back when the handle of the staff conected to its chest, avoiding contact with the blade just barely. Landing on its feet, it glared at Nanami, and was about to strike again, when the second chimera came in the way, leaving no room to attack between it and and first chimera.
Even as it shivered due to the intense cold inside its mouth, through force of will and hunger, it kept hold of Nanami's arm for four more seconds, attempting to drag her down to the ground during this time by yanking downwards on the arm. After the four seconds, the cold become to much for the first chimera to bear, and released its hold, if by then it wasn't frozen to Nanami's arm. While this happened, the second chimera leapt up at Nanami's back, aiming to digs its claws into her pouldrons.

The first chimera would be able to get Nanami down to one knee before he had to let go, holding her spear blade up as an extra support. Although frozen mist came from both Nanami's arm and the chimera's mouth, neither would be stuck to each other. Finally let go, the frosted state up her arm helped to numb some of the pain of the attack.
Hearing the chimera behind her leap towards her, Nanami couldn't get out of the way in time, instead she opted for a different approach. She brought the spear that was still somewhat implanted into the ground, into her armpit, the large spear pointing directly at the chimera's direction, basically making the chimera have to go through the spear before would be able to touch Nanami.

Ness gave a guilty smile and lifted her head up slightly before placing a single finger to her lips. [color=666666] "I'm sorry... but I can't tell that to anyone just yet. Let's just say it'll be... revolutionary if things end up working." [/color] She let out a small sigh, though this one seemed to be more hopeful than anything. "Well, it's been pretty fairly proven to be nothing but pseudoscience. It, like religion, makes for a nice distraction, but not much else." Pat said to Ness.

Ness was about to speak to Kenna again, before hearing her mention not killing the person in question. She smiled a bit to herself and kept silent.
