Agreed. Eisenhorn is one of my favourite series ever. I also really like Gaunt's Ghosts. Neither of them have much to do with the tabletop game, though.Meteor4118 said:No love for The Eisenhorn/Ravenor Trilogies? They're by far the best Warhammer 40k books.

Outside the milky way the Warp goes calm. So there are no currents or tides to travel on. It would be the same situation as the ancient mariner. "Day after day, day after day, we stuck nor breath nor motion, As idle as a painted ship upon a painted ocean". No sentient life in the void, no stimulus. Not even a lonely warp beast or hunter.Xooiid said:There is no limit to the reach of the imperium! There really is no limit, given the whole 'warp' and all.

Not so much for the gameplay but because it shows nearly the whole repertoire of races in the 40k universe.crimson5pheonix said:>Recommending Soulstorm.Knusper said:Start with playing a Dawn of War game, probably Soulstorm because that has the most races to introduce to you and then go on to reading the Gaunt's Ghosts series by Dan Abnett because in my opinion, they are the best 40k books.

Sigh. The damn thing lost my post. They supposedly go into hibernation and 'drift'. Im sure i heard their psychic gestalt of countless billions causes enough motion to push them through the warp too. Basically like having an engine on the back of your peddlo. Remember: Before life the warp was still and lifeless. Its intelligent, multicellular life that stirs it up and causes the currents that allow you to 'sail' the sea of souls. Its also why the vast psychic presence of the 'nids causes great big dead zones of head exploding white noise.KingPiccolOwned said:That can't be right, if that's the case then how did the Tyranids get here?Versuvius said:Eldar Prophecy was worse. Well - you could try finding a copy of the 1987 Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader rule book. It is a mess of tabletop skirmish rules in general - but has some nice sections covering the different weapons, the universe, the Imperial forces, the aliens, and many of the basic concepts that now link a sprawling franchise. Check the condition because the binding can come loose. Prices vary on e-bay - I wouldn't pay more than £35.Wyatt118 said:Hello my friends at the escapist.
