Gee, never seen a thread like this before.
Have I played any of the Max Payne games? No. Have I played disappointing sequels? Yes. Can I nominate the most dissapointing sequels I've played? Well, not that you asked, but okay:
-Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight
-Halo 4
-Soul Calibur IV
-Star Fox Command
(Seriously, what is it with 4's and disappointment?)
(Yes, I recognise the irony that I was asking about 4's and disappointment earlier.)

Nitpicking, but does FF13 really count as a sequel per se? Like, can any FF game since unless you're dealing with something like X-2, none of them share continuity? I know, game mechanics, numbers, etc., but still, it's like me calling Days of Ruin a sequel to Dual Strike. They're so far removed mechanically and narratively that I can't really call it a sequel.Dalisclock said:Contenders for Most disappointing sequels:

Probably detailed this elsewhere, but what's disappointing about 4?-Metal Gear Solid 4 and 5

Sequels, not prequels. Otherwise, I'll raise you a Perfect Dark Zero.-Fallout 76
