What kind of watch do you wear? Digital? Analogue? Do you go for the plain, metal watches or for something a bit more unique? What is your favourite brand?

I know many people have replaced watches with cell phones, but I couldn't stand that. Besides, you have to turn off your phone for exams which is when I really need a watch. Despite being Swiss, I haven't owned a Swiss watch since my first one, a Swatch. I find most of them to be a bit boring and very expensive. Sure, good quality. But so is my favourite brand, Fossil.

My last watch was a Diesel watch, which are also made by Fossil. But the strap broke and it would have cost around $80 total to replace which is way too much. I got a new one instead.

I like it. One of the more unique ones I've seen. I like being able to see into the watch. The top left thing spins when you walk, charging the battery. I keep wondering if the watch will start emitting steam.

Wow, it looks good. I used to wear one every day, but have stopped for ages, as the one I had (and still have) was ugly, uncomfortable and bulky. If I ever get round to getting a nice one, I will wear it with pride.

I don't have a watch... I just use my phone. But that certainly looks like a classy way of telling time. I used to have a really neat calculator watch when I was 11 but that's the last time I ever wore one.

Ripcurl Navarra - Fits nicely, rugged case and face, keeps accurate time and is waterproof to 400m.

I quiet like it :D

I vary my watches a fair bit, I had a Tissot PR50 that malfunctioned which I quite liked. I have a Limes Pharo auto which is delightful; i'm also currently repairing a "Hammond" generic 17 jewel incabloc, which I plan on giving a spin for a while.

There are a few watches I crave but they are too expensive for me at the moment unfortuantely, all German design:

Junghans - Max Bill chronograph:

Stowa - Antea Kleine Sekunde:

Nomos Glashutte - Tangente:

I wear a Wohler Skeleton Watch. I love the thing, it's a lot of fun watching the gears turn, and I get a lot of comments on it. Sometimes I even have people address me as "that guy with the cool watch." When they do, I always go "yeah, but that's just what my parent's call me."

It's also self winding. The one real problem is that it always runs fast, I usually have to set it back a minute or so most days because by the end of the day it'll be running one minute fast again. I don't mind though.

It can be seen here

I actually own the pocket watch from FMA. It is INCREDIBLY badass (apologies, I'm new/idiot and don't know how to post images).

to post images you just need to use an image tag like this:

Everywhere I go, I carry a pocket watch with me.

A bit like this one, but less shiny. And without the engraving on the reverse.

It's really comforting to hear it ticking too ^^

Yes, it does need to be manually wound up every day, but so what? I love it!

EDIT:

I remember 'back in the day' my physics teacher had a binary watch. I had much nerd jealousy.

I have one similar to this:

I wear a Breitling Chronomat Evolution with main dial colour gray and the smaller dials in black and pilot strap.
Lovely watch, got it from my Grandad for highschool graduation.
Favourite watch is probably Rolex Yach Master II in gold and blue. Bit pricey though :(
As a Swiss person I have to support my home country's economy a bit. :p

My wrist is 5.5" around...Pretty much all men's watches look absolutely ridiculous on me. A lot of men's watches have faces bigger than the surface of my wrist.

So yeah, no. Right now my watch is the classy HTC clock.

I have a watch. A random Timex thing, nothing too fancy. I just don't like having to fish my phone out of my pocket in order to tell the time...

Woohoo! There are other people out there who still wear watches! I was like the only one in all my classes in high school so whenever someone needed the time but couldn't get it from a clock, they would always ask me. Suck it cell phones! In fact I wear watches so often I feel wrong when I'm not wearing one.

OT: I usually get digital watches. Nothing too fancy, just something to help me keep the time and looks okay.

Mine is an epic steel watch made by Citizen. It does timing and calendars (with leap years :D) and time zones and alarms and stuff...

'twas the best birthday present I've had for many a year.

I don't really have a favourite brand. As I wrote a few lines ago, mine's a Citizen, but that's not through any real loyalty or preference. It was just the one I liked most of the options available.

I don't like watches which have too much on them, as if the designer just gave up and thought "Oh fuck it. Let's just cover it in dials and knobs and numbers and graphs so we can advertise it as 'multipurpose'". Watches like [a href="http://www.citizenwatch.com/CUK/English/detail.asp?Country=CUK&Language=English&ModelNumber=JY0010-50E"]this one[/a], for example.
