Oh great, another full 3 hours of Dr Manhattans cock
I'm thoroughly against Watchmen 2. Posts like yours are going to make me all for it. What do you really want?
What do you mean by " Posts like yours are going to make me all for it. What do you really want?"
I loved seeing Dr. Manhattan on the big screen. The idea of a Watchmen 2 is beyond despicable, but the temptation for more blue peen..... Please, don't tempt me........

No. No, no, no, no, NO!

The only possible way this might work is if it was a prequel, expanding on past events that people who haven't read the book might not know about and help them to better understand the first film. But even then, they would struggle to do it right.

And this is why Alan Moore hates comic book executives. But no, I would not buy it. I would illegally download it off of the internet just to say, "Suck it."
Someone else with a hollow excuse for piracy that can be boiled down to "I want to own it but don't want to pay for it". How droll.
Um, no. I would read it, then delete it afterward. And that, my dear sir, makes my comment not an excuse to wanting to own something without pay. Seriously, why would I want to own something I hate? Makes no sense. And please, don't make random assumptions about people by twisting their words to make a totally different meaning out of the statement.
So you get the benefit of reading it without paying? Even if you bin it later its still the same. Why read something you hate?

There's no need to fear, my friends. Alan Moore will work his mighty beard-magic and intervene to make it unhappen.
You know Alan Moore is an actual practitioner of magic, right?
Yup, I know. Worships a fictional snake god, too. XD

Admit it, you would too, even just to see how Watchmen was ruined.

Way to abominate the series you guys. Rorschach dies and he's the most popular character in the story except for Dr.Manhattan of course but that's for an entirely different reason

I don't think this is a good idea.

The first one was good but once anyone starts milking any francise, it usually turns to shit.

Watchmen was dense, well thought out, and well planned. Not only did it's ending wrap up the stories of almost all the characters, but it left it open ended enough that we could have our own opinions and interpretations of it.

If they were to add to an already complete story like that in a bid to recapture some of that glory, you know what it would be equivalent to?

Five words.

"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children."

...Exactly.

FUCK YOU to anyone who thinks this is a good idea. Be you internet morons, or movie executives.

Fuck you. the Watchmen movie was insult enough to the comic, doing anything else to it is completely abhorrent. I am nerd raging hard. Worse though, is bringing back the cast. Specifically the sad whore playing Laurie [Jupiter] and the guy playing Dreiburg. They sucked.

Just... no

Coincedantelly, I happened to re-watch the movie tonight.

I agree with just about everyone that a sequel, or any other watchmen related thing would be a massive pile of compressed shit.

Honestly, the only good thing about that film were the actors. I feel they did a very good job of portraying the characters from the original novel. However, under Zack Snyders direction, and the fact that this expansive story was stuffed into film length, and the missing story elements and sideplots (I know they came back in the directors cut, but that's beside the point. I'm not buying it if I can't rent it first, dammit.), and the fact that this film was made against the creators will--which should never be done, the movie quickly turned into a steaming pile of crap. This 'film' should have been a lengthy miniseries. There really isn't a lot to do with the story. You pretty much know everything there is to know. Rorsharc isn't cool unless he's a psychopath, The Comedian's story is pretty much wrapped up. Silk Specter would be dull, Nightowl would be dull as well, Dr. Manhattan's entire story is in that film, and Ozy would be...dull. Eh. It's not worth it. I'll probably see it to see how it's ruined, you have me there, but I hate these people's guts...

The end of the book kept you thinking, having a sequel showing "what happened next" would sort of ruin the ending of the first book once you have "an official answer" right?

I don't like the idea of a sequel either.

...but ever since Dark Knight made OMFG much more than Batman Begins, "comic book movie sequels" are getting reeaaallly popular.

Alan Moore would be spinning in his grave now.
I'm talking about the grave he sleeps in at night while regenerating his psychic zombie powers. Have a look at the guy, he's clearly been dead and reanimated for decades.

If Watchmen 2 occurs, fear his wrath!

Didio ruined the DC Universe by scheduling crossovers after crossovers and cheap stunts after cheap stunts. I don't even remember how in a short time span how many times continuity was retconned.

Comic fans have a nickname for him: Didiot.
