Flonne placed a hand on her chin thoughtfully as she let out a Hmmm... After a few moments she brought her fist down in the palm of her other hand, indicating she was done thinking. "Fun is when you do something that you enjoy! It's just as simple as that."

"He sure is. Now I'm not a carpenter's dream anymore." Etna said to Jean. She was in high enough spirits that she was able to take what Jean said in stride, and even laughed a little herself. "Say, you're from this planet, right? Do you know where there might be some really nice beaches? You know, ones we haven't already been to yet."

@OoC: Well she doesn't know what 'love' is either, so by extension yeah, she doesn't know what 'fun' is.

"........ I don't get it." Phoenix shrugged.

"Oh, there are some great beaches in California. I'll take you and some of the others there soon." Jean said, smiling.

"Um, what part don't you get Miss Phoenix? I thought I made it pretty clear." Flonne asked, determined to clarify things and teach Phoenix what 'fun' was.

"Yeah, I guess I can hang around for a while. I really need a vacation after this before going back to...huh, I can't even remember what I was doing before showing up here. Oh well, must not have been that important." Etna replied. She turned to Long Fang and said, "I got all my stuff out of your ship. So feel free to...I dunno, do whatever you were planning on doing after this."

"Enjoying stuff.... I thought you just do because other's kinda want you to..." Phoenix admitted.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Oh. Well sometimes that's how it goes, but that isn't the case anymore, right? You don't have anyone to boss you around anymore, so you can do whatever you want to do. To tell you the truth, I'm a little envious." Flonne explained with her usual happy expression. "Like, how you and Jean cuddle with each other. I can tell that you enjoy that."

"Cuddle? All I do is curl up to her and..." Phoenix blushed slightly. She really had no idea why she was getting flustered by this.

"Yeah. It'll really be nice to just hang out for a while and not have to worry about anything." Jean replied, looking very excited.

 

[Drakmorg]

"Yeah! You curl up with her and pet her! And she clearly enjoys it, and you enjoy it. That's what 'fun' is! But it doesn't have to be just that, you can enjoy lots of different things." Flonne exclaimed, hoping that Phoenix was finally getting the point.

"Sure will be, even though that pretty much all I ever do anyway. It'll be nice to get back to that." Etna said with a grin.

"Well then I'm jealous of you." Jean said with a giggle.

"I see... But like what other types of fun?" Phoenix asked.

Oh trust me kiddo, there are many types of fun...

"Oh there's lots of different kinds of fun! Like playing sports, or watching movies, or reading books, or..." And then Flonne went on to list every non-sexual and non-depraved activity mankind has engaged in to pass the time and enjoy him/herself. It took quite a long while, but Flonne felt that she had managed to cover her bases.

"Yeah, well that's one of the benefits of telling your boss to screw off and becoming 'self-employed'. Not that I'd ever expect you to do something like that." Etna said as she rested her hands on her hips.

Phoenix simply nodded. "I... Thank you I guess. But I noticed that you left out some... suggestive stuff out as well, like... kissing and junk like that. That's just love isn't?"

"Yeah...no..." Jean said.

Flonne blushed slightly as she hadn't expected Phoenix to bring that up, seeing as how she was practically oblivious about love, even after Flonne tried to explain it. "Um, yes...that kind of stuff is more related to 'love'. But people also have fun doing those kinds of things too, with someone they love." She nervously replied.

"Yeah, wasn't really expecting you to consider that. What would even happen if you quit your job? Would you just move on and get reincarnated, seeing as how you're dead and all?" Etna asked curiously.

Phoenix blinked. "... Now I'm confused. Can things about love cross with fun at times? What exactly defines things like this?"

"...Well I'd move on to the afterlife, yes." Jean replied.

OOC: I'd like to avoid talking about the conflicting views of death here if we could, since I have no answer for it that isn't just a hand wave...

"Um, well, yes. I mean, sometimes. Sometimes people do 'lovey' things because they find them to be fun. There...really isn't a defining line..." Flonne was clearly starting to get flustered by where the conversation was going. "Since love and fun are really similar, since both make you happy, it's kinda hard to say that something is definitely one or the other. You can do things you find fun with someone you love, and that kinda makes it 'lovey' too, though it's still fun..." Flonne stopped as she realized that she was starting to simply ramble.

@Outis: Fair enough.

"I see. So you ever plan on doing that? What am I saying, of course you will. Not like you can just keep working for Thanny for all eternity, you'd get bored as hell eventually." Etna said.

Phoenix scratched her head. "So its up to us to figure out the differences?... I've never had something like that before... And what's up with you? If you don't want to talk about it, then we simply don't."
