Karl nearly screamed as the plane lurched to the right, but held his hands to his mouth. When it had leveled out again, he tried to settle down.

Ok, so the fuel will probably get us to at the least another point. Now lets just start her up, he thought, and grabbed the sticks, ensuring the flaps were adjusted to ensure a level flight. As the engines hit full speed, he yelled back "now let her loose twilight!"

When the plane lurched to the right, Jacques was thrown violently off his feet and into a row of seats before falling into the footwell, his scabbard twisting awkwardly and his cuirass clattering loudly. He groaned as he tried in vain to pull himself out of the tiny space. For all his steady posture on the pitching deck of a ship, this flying machine was something new and unpleasant. His stomach twisted in knots and he began to feel nauseous.
