OOC: Hey there, I think we're the only two on at the moment. At noon I'm going to the computer shop to get a new battery for my computer, which is in 2.1667 hours for me.

Reimu and Marisa came back from their time in Gensokyo, prepped and ready to go. Reimu had developed a spell card that was like her Fantasy Seal, but dealt one energy ball instead of the exhausting 7 or so from the Fantasy Seal.

Blondie walked out into the street from where he had been sleeping, silently smoking as he looked around.

Royce got up and started doing some exercise outside.

 

[Random berk]

OOC: I'm still on, just paying attention to other stuff.

OOC: @Outis, are Blondie and Royce in the same place?

The girls walked over to Blondie.
"I think we've seen you around, but never had the chance to say hi. I'm Marisa, by the way."
<color=red>"And um... I'm Reimu." She waved.

OOC: @Slenn: Relatively close to the same place.

Blondie tipped his hat slightly to the girls. "People call me Blondie." he said simply.

"Nice to meet you."
<color=red>"This place looks even more devastated than before. Who exactly blew up that inn?"

"The same people who shot at us yesterday would be my guess." Blondie said as he took a slow drag on his cigarillo.

 

[Slenn]

"We saw a strange lizard man fighting the rest while we and Bryce were fighting Alex. Would that be him?"

<color=red>"Speaking of which, we should ask Bryce about that power of his."

"Could be. Was it wearing armor?" Blondie asked.

 

[Slenn]

<color=red>"It's hard to remember. Everything was happening fast."

"He may have been it. He had these long ears and had a rugged look about him."

Bryce pulls himself out of the bed he'd been staying in, and walked out of the house he'd been in.

"Suppose it doesn't matter, now that he's dead." Blondie said with a shrug.

Royce was still doing pushups a few feet away from the girls and Blondie.

Bryce wanders out and finds the girls talking to Blondie. "Oh hello, nice job yesterday. Probably would have had my goose cooked if you hadn't helped."

<color=red>"Well, he must have been hired by somebody to demolish that inn."
"I suppose we'll find out sooner or later."

<color=red>"Where are you from, Blondie?" She asked sincerely.
Marisa snickered a little. Reimu hit her lightly with her elbow to remind her of manners.
Sorry, it's kinda funny is all.

<color=red>"You're welcome there, Bryce. Mercer was hiding information, and we had to help you out. I was honestly not expecting you to transform like that."
"Where'd you get that kind of power?"

Blondie nodded a bit to Bryce. "Far away." he said as he scratched his short beard.

 

[Random berk]

Mercer sat on the edge of a building with his legs dangling over the edge and his head bowed, listening to the roars, howling and screaming that could now be heard regularly across the lower city. The infection was reaching crisis level. Infected had started to spill out of tunnels and sewers in numerous points across the city with Brawlers alongside them. He knew that the established hives would now be fully grown and would be flooding the tunnels with firal gas. Soon the hives would start to link up and form a large network beneath the streets. Already they had penetrated the surface in several places and could be seen as pulsating masses of infected flesh protruding from the ground. Despite these advances, Mercer was not happy. He still wanted revenge for the group attacking him the night before, and he had not been able to find a way up into the upper city. Furthermore, though he had tried with a few different individuals, he had still not been able to achieve his main goal, the whole point of spreading the plague in the first place.

"Well, that's a long and complicated story. Short version is that where I'm from, most of the population died from a disease that ruptured their organs and had them spewing blood everywhere. I was one of the 10 percent or so that didn't die. Among the survivors were a group called carriers, where the virus had mutated in them and changed their genetic code to allow them to perform superhuman acts of strength and skill, like what I did. Grow body armor, spit acid, lose your physical shape, changing your face into the perfect replica of another's, all sorts of crazy shit. Mine was obtaining another sentient being living in me, that could copy any ability and combine it with others. The downside to this is that if I give someone else a blood transplant, or there's any sort of exchange of fluids between us, they get infected with the virus. Most of the time, the virus would turn them stark raving mad and have them trying to kill everyone they know except myself."

 

[Slenn]

<color=red>"Far away huh? I guess you could say that for all of us." Reimu gave a small modest smile.

And then the girls overheard Bryce's story.
"Oh my god. How horrifying! Is there a way to stop this crazy virus from spreading? Or is it not spreading anymore?"

<color=red>"I'm guessing that was the thing that we saw the other day. Did that sentient being have a name?"

Bryce smiles. "You want to meet him? He's listening right now."

"It's hard to say for sure." Blondie said.

Royce took a moment to rest and drink some water.
