OOC: @Dot Eh, probaly not worth it. Not looking to take it further than that, and Jensen is stronger than a human too. Its always been a problem, deciding which super strong character is strongest.

"A military base under a fascist regime. I have no allegiance to them. But yeah, actually, I was a cop, and as far as I see it, two people drawing weapons and assaulting each other in the streets is grounds for intervention."

Mercer/Ellis folded his arms and grinned back at Yuki.
"Corporal Ellis Reading. And you seem to have a taste for... the thrill of a fight, we could say."
I don't know why I was trying to recruit Bryce. This girl seems like the sort who would revel in my work.

[color=01B7FF]"I will keep that in mind for the next time I have to prove to someone that they are awake, zam."[/color] She stood back up in her normal posture, then asked, [color=01B7FF]"Why did you find the presence of that woman so... unbelievable, zam?"[/color]

Rozalin wiped her eyes again and smiled at Bryce as she followed him. "I am sure that once I finally meet him...again, once this is all over, he will be happy to see me." She said, seeming to pause for quite a bit before saying 'again', and seemed hasty in adding it. "And thank you." She added regarding his praise of her as a medic. "As far as I can tell it was just another senseless conflict." She answered Marisa.

 

[Saltyk]

Majeh continued. "Patience..."
"Twelve years passed like so."
"One day while out on a journey of training, he found himself under attack by a group of men. They said nothing and attacked without provocation. Fortunately, the young man was quite skilled and was more than capable of fending them off, killing each one."

"However, the last one unmasked himself to reveal a familiar face. A person that he had trained with and that had even looked up to him in training. This revelation all but destroyed the man's ability to fight, as he realized the men he had just killed were those that he saw as his own brothers. However, he survived as the would be assassin truly didn't want to kill him either."

"But they weren't the last of them. Others soon followed, and continued to attack him. They came for five days, preventing him from sleeping or eating, keeping him on the run. But he avoided killing them. He couldn't bring himself to kill anymore of his brothers. He simply beat them and ran."

"Until, he came to a cliff. Now, with no other choice, he turned around and said:
'Brothers. From now on, I fight to kill.'"

Bryce shrugged, and said to Marisa "Ditto what Roz says. No idea, seemed pointless." He began moving more quickly, but continued to speak in relaxed tones. "What kind of relationship do you have with your father Roz?"

Marisa and Reimu decided to join in on the conversation. They wanted to learn more about where Roz came from. Maybe it would explain her 4 leaf clover symbol.

Rex scratches the back of his head a bit. [color=008888] "So many new people have arrived lately. It's gotten to the point where I'm starting to think I'm hallucinating because of my sewer diving habits recently. The lady disappearing into a mist doesn't help either..." [/color] He chuckles as he sees her bow. [color=008888] "It's no problem, Yuki. You're just a lot stronger than I would have thought." [/color]

Yukino just shrugs in Jensen's direction. [color=bb66bb] "Curiosity... or in this case, futile attachment to duty, killed the cat." [/color]

Turning to Ellis/Mercer, she nods a bit, blushing. [color=bb66bb] "Fighting and killing people has been my life since I was a kid. It sounds sad but I've been enjoying it for quite some time now." [/color] She tilts her head a bit as she continues. [color=bb66bb] "So... are you the same way? Would you love to see a row of dead bodies just pile the streets?" [/color]

 

[Chungus]

Entering their room in the inn, Yeul climbed into bed. "I thank you for stopping when you did, Caius." she remarked, rolling into her back and pulling the sheets over her chest.

"Of course." Caius answered, sitting down on a chair, resting his sword against the side of the chair. "I only wish it hadn't interupted this conversation you had with this Black girl. You seem to be enjoying that."
Yeul sighed. "There is no need to appolagise. That it wasn't in your hands." she asnwered, the yawned. "I'm tired now. Good night, Caius."
Yeul rolled onto her side and quickly fell alseep.

Caius held his sword and silently moved it infront of him, looking into the eye of the sword once it was. One more piece of the puzzle is in place... It shan't be much longer.
Eventually, Caius fell asleep also, sleeping lightly as always.

This is stupid. This has nothing to do with me. Death is a promotion in Noxian eyes, to die with honor, to actually be bested by an opponent. That feeling, the feeling of being truly defeated by a better opponent, we all fear it, but its what we show towards it that matters.

I rose in my ranks because I was ruthless and efficient. I look for spirit, that iron will to be strong. The Ionians showed that at...

I looked away slightly, not because of Majeh's story but about my own. They should have won, we should have died there... And yet, here I am. That battle... There was nothing glorious about it, just unadulterated slaughter of both sides.

"Really aunt. Something...relating to her." Echo confirmed, looking like she didn't really want to go into more detail, and maybe was happy that she couldn't.

Jensen didn't respond to this. Instead he simply flicked on his shades, leaving his lined face inscrutable, and stared for a few seconds before turning and walking away, lowering his hand from his pistol grip as he did so. Mercer/Ellis stepped out of his way as he passed. Regarding Yukino, he simply grinned, and thought about the question for a moment.
"Me, I just serve my people, and I do it the best way I know how. I'm damned good at what I do, and I enjoy doing it." He finally said. "Some folk say my reasons are wrong. Crazy. A flimsy excuse. But I don't believe it. And I say fuck 'em. I'll stop what I do when there's no no work left to be done."

OOC: Just realised how late it was. I'm going to try and make my next post the last.

 

[Saltyk]

Majeh continued.
"From the woods came several men. Including another familiar face. The man that had greeted his father and him. The man that had trained him for the last twelve years."

"'Master... Why are you doing this?' he asked."
"'Because... The Heavens have changed...' was the only reply he was given. But it was enough. He knew what that meant. He dropped to his knees, tears streaming down his eyes."
"'Then... father... what of mother?' he asked."
'You know the law...'"
"Yes, he knew the law. The leadership of the country had changed. Those loyal to the old government were be killed. But not just them. Their families as well. His mother and father were already dead. His life was next."

"Now, with nothing else to lose, he surrendered to his fate. 'Then, kill me, too... Be done with it.'
His master approached, grabbing his blade in both hands and raised it over his head, ready to strike."

Rozalin began to nervously wring her hands together at Bryce's question. "Well, I suppose you could say he was always rather...distant. Not unkind, mind you, but he was never really...there if you can understand that. He always made sure I was well taken care of though, he gave me gifts on my birthday, a nice place to live, and servants to take care of me and keep me company." I suppose I'm not technically lying... She answered Bryce. "On my seventh birthday, he gave me a field of white roses, all just for me." She added, then she started wiping her eyes as she began to tear up once again.

That soon the dimensional curtain will rupture entirely and all of existence itself will end, zam?"[/color] Yukimaru pondered after hearing Rex. She then shook her head and said, [color=01B7FF]"No, that probably isn't the case, zam. Anyway, I should learn to control my strength better, zam. I'm not used to spending so much time around humans, zam."[/color]

Bryce walked for a minute or two, thinking carefully. He then said to her "forgive me, but it doesn't sound like he cares for you much. Honestly, he seems like a pretty shitty father."

Aisha nodded. "Ok, I can see that you don't want to talk about... But maybe... later we can, if you wish."

Laws and rules... It's what Noxus had forgotten. Only the strong survive, but we take no evil into it. It's simple natural selection. We fought to quell our opponents, to spread the glory that is Noxus to our defeated opponents, but... If to win by any costs resolves to needless killing, even to opponents that clearly had the upperhand... then we had forgotten why we became what we were.

However, I still listen to Majeh's story. It still doesn't change fact about how I view the world.

Yukino gives Ellis/Mercer another smile, this one much warmer. [color=bb66bb] "Hm... Looks like we both think the same way. Doing what's necessary when others won't." [/color] She gives him a quick wink. [color=bb66bb] "I do hope you'll show me this work of yours. You've piqued my interest quite a bit today." He sounds just like my old sensei... [/color]

Rex looks at Yukimaru with his eyebrows raised a bit. [color=008888] "Woah... Didn't expect something that dark coming from you either. But now that you mention it... we have no idea how the dimensions fit together... or why we're all here instead of other worlds. ...Maybe this place is just some sort of magnet that attracts loose material floating in between dimensions..." [/color] He scratches his head again before getting back on the subject. [color=008888] "Ah, so you're a demon as well?" [/color]

And finally Majeh came to the end of his story.
"Sword held high, the master stopped. 'Is this what I taught you? You're just giving up?'
Ashamed the young man replied. 'I'm sorry, Master. I have failed you...'"

"For a moment the master stood there. Then, he sheathed his sword, and began to walk away from his pupil. 'You died here, today. Don't you ever return to this country ever again. Ja Young Choi died on this cliff.'
He started to walk off, but looked over his shoulder. 'I'm sorry. This is all I can do for you...'"

"That is the last anyone saw of the boy..."

With that he walks away from Riven. "I know you don't think there was anything to hear in that tale, but it had a point."

 

[Slenn]

<color=red>"Do you think that because the father only made gifts, but never spent much time with her daughter?" Reimu said to Bryce.

Mercer/Ellis' grin widened as Yukino winked.
"I think you'll find it quite enjoyable. Perhaps familiar too." He glanced around to see that the others were out of earshot at this, before beginning to turn away.
"I'm 'fraid I must be off for now. See you real soon. Yukino." With that he turned and strolled away, the Elite's power katana still propped on his shoulder.

OOC: Scratch that, she didcall out her name to Caius. Anyway, I'm off.
