@Wacky: Wouldn't Tedd have to walk past two impaled, eyeless, corpses? Seems like something that would make you reconsider going inside...
@wacky: I'm not seeing any buildings that scream 'jail' in Lakewest, other than the military base, which is where Trilby is. But, I might have just missed some key detail.
@wacky but he jsut walked into the command place which, right at the gate, is the sight of two guards, eye-less and impaled multiple times on metal spikes sticking out of the ground. to be honest i's say shadow made them better at there job.
OoC @wacky: There is no prison in Lakewest. Those detained were held in holding cells.
Being chased down, the goat began making for higher ground, chased by the fire dragon. As it began climbing, the dragon caught up with it and impacted with the goat. On fire, the goat fell back down to the ground, screaming as it was being burned. It tried to get up, but immediately fell down again, one of its legs broke with the fall.

"Savranth? Unless you can give me a last name too, or a description, that really isn't helping." the soldier said to Grace. "And who were these other people? You said there were three more, excluding yourself and Tao."

"That confusion cost a great deal of damage, and someone's life." the soldier said to Tao. "And you will have to pay for that." he added as he stood up and walked to the door. "I've got no further questions. Come on. Back to your cell. You'll get your food shortly."

"Yes it did." the soldier answered Trilby. Those were probably code words... "So, where is this home of yours, then?"

What does this 'datapad' look like? the soldier mentally asked Tophat as he found the shelve where Rookie's items were stored, retrieved the backpack and opened it.

The first time Rita bashed on the goat's head with a rock, it was knocked onconscious, but it still made gurgling noises and writhed subconsciously. With the second bash, a loud crack was heard its the side of its skull was cracked. With a third hit, a stream of blood squirted Rita in the face as the goat's skull was caved in, pieces of brainmatter sticking to the bloodied stone Rita held. While dead, the corpse of the goat still spasmed weakly. The corpse of the goat burning, the smell of scorched fur and flesh filled Rita's nostril, as the flames had burned away the skin and began scorching fat and muscle tissue.

"You there, hold it!" one of the soldiers commanded as Tedd approached the gates of the compound, which was still on high alert. "Not a step further." he added, pushing Tedd back slightly, then took on a less authorative stance. "Anyway, what was this person you're looking for wearing?"

Meanwhile, four other soldiers left the main building, carrying two body bags. The lifted what remained of the soldiers who were torn apart by the swords into the body bags and carried them in to the building, bringing them to the morgue.

Looking through Rookie's backpack for an object matching the description, the soldier retrieved the datapad, then Tophat itself. And... I am now looking at the 'magical artifact' I assume?
