"No. Tao needs to work with you guys if I wanna have food in my belly. If I gotta knock some sense into you all, I will, meow!" Tao said as she stayed in a fighting stance.

The Rookie took a step back and reached into his rucksack, eventually pulling out Tophat.
(To Erica: Am I glad to see you!)

@Salt: Furioso said it was at the edge of LAKEWEST, not the compound!

Data looked at him, "May I at least see?" he said.

 

[Chungus]

Upon seeing Tophat, Erica initially didn't give much of a responce, believing it to be a random tophat which in a bad state. Upon hearing its voice, however, she gasped with suprise. "Oh my! Tophat!" she exclaimed, sitting up in her chair. "This is quite the coincidence! Of all people, I hadn't expected to find you here."

"Not happening. Let it go." the soldier answered Tao, making little effort to get into a combat stance himself. They don't pay me enough for this...

Another soldier arived on the scene, carrying a pistol. Although this paticular model was made of plastic, rather then metal, and had a small tank of sorts ontop of it.

 

[Saltyk]

"There is nothing to see. I can tell you anything you need to know. Someone apparently dug up through the ground, freed the prisoner and she attacked and killed a guard before they escaped through the tunnel. Our men tried to attack them after they went through, but it seems they had already made an escape."

OoC: @Wacky: The compound is on the edge of Lakewest. Even still, they would look. It'd be illogical to think they didn't do a sweep of the whole area.

Tao didn't say or do anything for a little bit. Eventually, she retracted her claws and walked away from the base. Muttering, "Fine then, meow..." as she went.

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie handed Tophat to Erica before taking a step back.
(To Erica: The same goes for me! Honestly, I wasn't sure I'd ever see you again.)

Tao made her way back to Felina's house, looking sad and angry as she entered the home.

@Salt: Alright, good point.

"How was the hole dug? What did the concrete look like? From what direction was it dug? Was part of it removed? How do you think she got past the bars? Were there two holes, one for one side, one for the other? How do you contain prisoners? Why did you flood the tunnel? How did she get her out? I need as much detail as I can get, and, no offense ment, human memory degraedes over time, and eyewitness accounts are not the most effective method of garnering information." he said.

Erica took Tophat and placed him on the table infront of her. "Eh? You didn't think you'd ever see me again? What do you mean by that? Furthermore, who is this gentleman with you?" she asked, lazily slumping over on the table.

Once Tao left, the soldier sighed again. "'Bout time. That one couldn't take a hint."

"Eh. At least I didn't have to tranq her, so that's a plus."

"Something up?" Felina asked Tao.

"We don't use bars. We use shield magic to hold our prisoners in place... As for the rest of that, there is no reason to explain it to you. What are you planning to do go find her? We already have that under control." The Captain explained to Data.

"They wouldn't listen...It's not fair, meow!" Tao shouted as she slumped to the floor.

 

[Kirke]

(To Erica: I lost my magic... And without it, I had no way home. My friend here is James, he is a soldier who is also stuck here. Not really a conversational type, but he sure knows how to fight.)

"I wish to see if she did kill someone, and is in fact as horrible as she appeared. I believe I will be able to deduce whether it was her, or rather the shapshifter who killed the guard." he said.

 

[Saltyk]

"Why do you think I'm not in the military? I tried to warn you..." Felina replied to Tao. "You could try working on the farm... That's what a lot of beastkin do."

"The guard was already looked at. Besides, he's been buried and we're not digging him back up for you." The Captain replied.

OoC: Why would he think it's a shapeshifter? I know of nothing that would lead to that conclusion.

"Nobody would even let me try when I asked before, meow. They assumed I was worthless..." Tao said to Felina.

Erica was rather shocked upon hearing Tophat's explaination, but choose to put being courteous before voicing her concerns. "Greetings to you then, James." she said, sitting uprigt, giving Rookie a nod that more resembled a bow, as she moved her body too. Looking back to Tophat, she said, "Loose your magic? How could that posible have happened?"

Data nodded, "Indeed, asking to unearth the body would be impolite. May I see the cell, than?" he said.

@Salt: "The walls were expanded in near-perfect manner. Tao's conspirator managed to match her in both hight and walk, indicating a Almost-Perfect Transformation, since a clone would have some mild variation, which this one didn't, and Someone wearing the same shoes as Tao would have a different gait. Since she was being followed, she could not have doubled back and made the second prints, therefore, the only logical explanation I could think of is that she was, indeed helped by someone with the ability to transform. However, the deeper indention shows that she was either carrying something heavy, or could not mask her mass via transformation."

 

[Kirke]

The Rookie made a small nod, and a casual salute as he sat down on a nearby chair.
