Ahriman did glance briefly at Zevrisya as they ran, impressed by her physical condition. He may not have been pushing himself to the limit, but even so, there were few mortals who could keep up with an Astartes, let alone do so with so little apparent exertion. He was about to question her on her unusual physiology, but the sounds of combat somewhere up ahead drew his attention. Tuning his Lyman's ear to the disturbance and filtering other ambient noise from his attention, he recognised the crackling discharges of some form of energy-based attacks, and fractionally quickened his pace.
"Trouble ahead." He remarked to Zevrisya, his voice level and unstrained. "Just how fast can you run?"

"This is about my top speed, I think." Zevrisya replied in a similarly unstrained tone, not speeding up but not slowing either. Her nose twitched a little, picking up on the faint scents of burning that accompanied the electric bolts hitting either Dala or whatever was behind her.

"Very well." Ahriman replied. "I will match your speed then, there is no sense overdoing the charge, and expending energy before the fight. Be ready though, we are getting close." While running, he had been holding his hequa staff across his chest like the sculpted lid of an Egyptian sarcophagus, but now he held it low, the hooked blade arcing back and forth as he ran, flashing in the sunlight. Ahriman began to mutter to himself as he ran, in a language that Zevrisya would not understand, nor would she be quite able to reproduce the phrases if she tried. The space around Ahriman seemed to tense, somehow, as though reality itself was somehow unnerved by the words he spoke.

Zevrisya continued running until she reached the location of the fight, at which point she would come to a dead stop and close her eye. A relaxed expression would slowly come across her face, and she placed the middle and index fingers of her right hand to her temple. Nothing would happen immediately, however a faint purple aura would appear around her head.

Faa had seen Zevrisya and Ahriman coming from the window, wondering what they were doing here too. He was actually quiete interested in the fight and was content to watch the Hrem have at it.

Ahriman planted his feet as they rounded the corner, rumbling to a halt as his armoured boots ground into the concrete. With the kind of attacks being thrown around he had anticipated a dangerously violent fight to the death, but the combatants hardly looked like the murderous sort. He stopped muttering and whatever strange energies had been gathering to himself dissipated. He raised his left hand across his chest, loosely balled into a fist, at the ready for something.

Dala sidestep the next two electrical attacks as well, then breathed out as Nina ran at her.

Even though it first looked like fire, what Dala had breathed was not that - it was a portal.

Forefront HQ, portal room. Previously

"Alright, I'll start up the portal, then. If you need to get close to the thing, that's fine. So long as you don't actually stand inside the ring as it's being activated, it's perfectly safe."

Once the mages were ready, the engineer began activating the portal. As explained, the particle accelerator started first, two being speeding around inside the ring, until they collided. This creating an opening, negative energy from a device built to condense and capture this was injected into the hole. This created the portal, set to lead to the control booth part of the room.

The engineer then waited a couple of seconds, then closed the portal, repeating the process thrice.

"Did you get anything from that?" The engineer asked, speaking through the latest portal that was created.

Hotel lobby, Pointe St. Charles, Montreal. March 6th

Sitting on the ceiling of the lobby a fly spybot fixed its camera on Shana as she entered the lobby, and made her way to the phone, recording her call, and relaying the footage to the Watcher, nearby.

Pointe St. Charles, Montreal. March 6th

If he happened to look up, Ahriman might notice the Watcher that hovered in the area between the portal station and the hotel, some 1.5 km in the air. It was a small spherical device, the size of a tennis ball, with a single camera, currently focused on Dala and Nina's fight.

Ahriman jolted as he saw the portal. While the others could see its opening, he could feel what was behind it. A passage through the Great Ocean. It was different from any other mode of travel through the Warp that he had encountered before, such as the Eldar Webway or the Gellar Fields of the Imperial Navy, but it was definitely there. He muttered another few quick phrases and made ready to intervene in the fight if the situation called for it.

"I'll never get any rest with all this going on. I'm coming down!" the collar yelled and Faa's head disappears back inside the window followed by some faint growls and snarls as he knocks several things over in the room with his tail and wings Its a box! A bloody box! he manages to regain his composure as he tucks his wings in and slinks through the halls down into the lobby. His eyes instantly noticing the disturbance in the air caused by the spybot. He has no clue what it is however and just thinks it any old bug. His gaze leaves the bot after a second as he makes his way outside.

"Well, it looked like you were getting ready in case the altercation between Dala and Nina got out of hand."

Nina grunted and held her free hand in front of her when she saw what she assumed was an attack from Dala. What looked to be a small, black bead quickly formed roughly an inch from her palm. The image of space around the bead appeared distorted, stretching to look as if the bead were sucking in everything around it. Nina didn't slow her pace, and when the fiery portal and bead came in contact with one another, the portal rapidly shrunk and was pulled toward the bead until it disappeared completely. The light her dagger gave off dimmed slightly.

Her path now free of obstruction, Nina kept running towards Dala, and would swing at Dala's midsection with her dagger if she was able to get close enough.

Zevrisya opened her eye once she had focused, watching Dala open the portal. Presuming, then, that Nina was the aggressor, Zevrisya moved her fingertips from her head to point at Nina. A bolt of green light shot forth and, if it connected, would slowly fill Nina with a sense of serenity.

If it was not magically fireproof against thousands of degrees, Nina's dagger would just melt, and her hand as well.

Regardless, Dala was able to avoid her midsection being hit by moving as fast as before, again, by moving backwards.
Dala again breathed out, this time a massive trail of fire launched from her mouth, and wriggled itself around Nina, not touching her, therefore not turning her to ash, but still blocking her path in all directions.

While Nina's dagger seemed perfectly unharmed by the flames, Nina ended up dropping it as her hand had been completely incinerated. She screamed in pain and staggered backwards a step.

Not being able to notice she was getting shot at from behind, Zevrisya's beam hit Nina and made her calm down. She had been previous looking nervous about being surrounded by fire, but now was just taking it in stride. "Alright, ya got me in a box here. Just do me a favor and make it quick, yeah?" She said to Dala.

Standing in the doorway Faa slowly crept out of the hotel. "Jhakt!" He cursed instinctively at the suprise of seeing a Hrem summon fire. To Faa's eyes everything seems a tad slower and sluggish. His perception allowing him to tell a great deal just from looking at someone and he was forever checking his peripheral vision. Something catches his eyes briefly in the sky and he spends the moment nessacary to discern what it is. He didn't see an end in sight soon to all this and sighed. He just wanted to eat and get some rest and these Hrem were making that very hard.

Dala smiled. "You deserve a second chance, but you have to earn it. Like I said, I will not kill you for no reason."

She breathed out, and another portal appeared, right in front of Nina, not being touched by the flames, so walking through it was safe.
On the other side, Nina could smell oil, and see a red sky, seemingly burning, while the grass on the ground was scorched. Oddly enough, some flowers seemed to grow, despite the lack of life all around them. In the distance, several huge black towers were visible.

"Step through. You are banished from this world until you know what interfering truly means."

The aura disappeared from around Zevrisya's head, and she approached Dala. As she went, she reached for her cane and unclipped it from her belt. "On whose authority are you banishing her?" she asked.

Ahriman had cursed himself as Nina struck before he could react in any way, shocked as he was by the appearances of the portals. Now however, he readied himself to assist in controlling the situation. While Zevrisya approached Dala, Ahriman planted the haft of his staff, and brushed aside his robe with his left hand, resting his armoured fingers on the holster of an enormous, blocky handgun. He did not attempt to draw it, but the threat was clear, as though the presence of a fully armoured Astartes was not already sufficient to cow any rabble-rousers. Remaining as still as a brazen statue, he waited to see what would happen next.
