Ah.

The Child of Bhaal has awoken.

It is time for more...experiments.

On topic, a 3D HD remake of Baldur's Gate 2 in a Dragon Age Origins esque engine would be amazing. If it was fully voice acted too OH MY GOD.

I'd like both games remade, but something to make 1 much more fun and engaging, since it was maddeningly frustrating and horrible. 2 was fine though.
The only required voice acting is Jim Cummings at the start.

"If we are separated you should head to the Friendly Arm Inn; there you will meet Kahlid and Jahira. They have long been my friends, and you can trust them."

That picture looks like a creepy mix of Shepard from Mass Effect and Varrys from Game of Thrones.

FYI - They are changing the comments hidden in the HTML code every day.
This is true, I checked it out today(March 1st) and it told me it would teach me to use my wrath. Definitely piqued my interest.
EDIT: Ninja'd, though i'm not entirely suprised about that.

And this is where shit like Fast and Furious 5 comes from. It's called flogging a dead horse instead of coming up with new ones.

BG was a great series and we'll all have fond memeries of it, but let it die peacfully. Stop clinging to the past and look forward to new and exciting futures...

Oh wait, there's alredy too much of this going on. It's the same kind of logic that Battlefield 3 seem like a good idea at the time, as opposed to the dumbed down retread that spawned in its place.

Until I know more specifics, I will withhold judgement of course.

But, if they considered a 3D overhaul, then they should be condemned to the deepest reaches of gaming hell, for all eternity. Why? Well, apart from the isometric thing mentioned before, I'm pretty sure they'd do a lot of "streamlining" to "appeal to a wider audience".

But, until I know for sure, I will not rage. Once I know for sure, well...

Is anyone interested in 'Gathering a party' and 'venturing forth' BG2:ToB or SoA online?

I have a paladin just itching to break out Carsomyr on some unsuspecting evil buttocks!

Or, alternatively, experience the joy of rolling a new character and appeasing the miniature giant space hamster - slayer style?

The game needs a complete, fully voiced, HD overhaul. The mod giving it the BG 2 engine doesn't cut it for me. Give me a Dragon Age type Engine with all the original content please.
yuck, no thanks dragon age was inferior in every way to baldurs gate, the game play was way too ... WoW - like. besides there's already a bunch of dudes who like dragon age making a mod to port baldurs gate 2 into dragon Age, and for what its worth they seem to be doing a pretty good job.

but, if they re released Baldurs gate with the same garbage game play as dragon age i would be sadness

Exactly. All the best lines from Baldur's Gate are from the handful of times they voiced a couple of lines of dialogue which vastly increased the impact they had on you. This also allowed them to be more flexible with the dialogue since you can keep tweaking until release if you don't have to worry about going back and redoing the VA work.

You know...I am really hoping it is a totally new BG3 just to see the world wide web explode into a shower of rage, and RUINED FOREVER!

I mean...if its an HD reskin of BG2, than lots of people will whine about it being Isometric, and unvoiced.
If its an sequel called BG3, than people who scream that its not about the Bhaalspawn and no longer isometric.

Honestly I dont really care that much myself, since eh...its an OLD game I played it when I was like 12 or so.

I mean people are going to look at an HD re-release and LAUGH at how old its mechanics are. Its based on D&D 2nd edition for God's sake. Its a great nostalgia item but if I want my RPG fix I will play a game that actually does not look like ass.

I have a feeling it was all about this:

I'm disappointed.

The site has been updated.

And Loethlin, I very much doubt it is about that. All the clues tend to point to some kind of IOS port for BG1.

There are clues? Sorry but an IOS port sounds like a pile of ass if that's what all this teasing is about.

HD rerelease would be a little pointless, though worth it, since anyone who is truly an rpg fan and Baldur's Gate fan in particular isn't so shallow as to care about graphics. Which isn't to say we don't appreciate them.

I prefer hoping for the best and crossing my fingers for a BG3. Yes, it could be a RUINED FOREVER situation but at least then we have the possibility of something truly great. And I'm used to ignoring cash grab sequels by now.

Couple of clues.

Firstly all the images on the site are BG1 portraits. Which points to dealing with BG1.

And there was this posted by GameBanshee.

http://www.gamebanshee.com/news/107112-baldurs-gate-mystery-project-comments-and-qcoming-soonq-teaser-trailer.html

And they were the first to catch on to the whole thing.

*And I agree that this kinda sucks if I am right.

This from Trent Oster's twitter.

Great meeting with #Atari at #GDC now we need to get all the ducks in a row for an announcement #baldursgate #bestthingever

Atari owns the rights, right?

Maybe I am wrong, maybe it is BG3....

*Another update

Forgot to mention awesome meeting yesterday with the #WizardsoftheCoast guys. Great talking #d&d with them
