I desperately need to lose weight, and fast. I really want to have a much thinner body, (I don't care about muscles) and i have tried a lot. Can anyone please give me advice on how to lose a great deal of weight, and quickly. Please, no snide/stupid or trolling comments. And please just don't say cardio and fruit. I will switch to a lifestyle "diet" when a lose the first "chunk" of weight. Also I am up for anything as long as it isn't surgery, really expensive, or dangerous to the point of hospital or death. (I also have work and school so i can't do anything special after a meal besides dinner.)

Two weeks of hard labour followed by 6 weeks of inactivity and little food.

2 stone for me!

But really, I beg you, no vomiting.

The more energy you expend and the less food you eat to make up for it, the more weight you'll lose! Or so I heard. Don't take my word for it, because most people eating what I eat should be obese by now (my lovely metabolism stops this from happening to me).

I'm in the process of losing some weight as well. (8-9 kilos so far *high five*!). Anyway, the main thing I do is pretty simple. First of all I just exercise in different ways, running or taking walks being the main methods but also some judo (since I'm into that) and doing sets of excercises (push-ups and other stuff). I try to do something every day (at least taking a walk, which is both refreshing and easy)

Also, eating regularly is important. Breakfeast, lunch and dinner, plus snacks like fruit and the like in between. I seldom eat til I'm stuffed either, since you really don't need to and it's better to eat less but more often.

Other than that, drink a lot of water and get enough sleep! Good luck buddy!

The advice I can give you to lose weight/keep healthy is follow a strict meal plan and exercise. Your supposed to get at least 30 mins. of exercise a day to maintain weight, and a full hour to lose weight. So you may want to consider investing in a gym membership. For me, I do 20 reps. on a full home gym then run a mile or two every night.

Jello. Lots of it. Survive on nothing else for the remainder of your existence. It is filling, delicious and worth almost no calories. Also, it's cheap so you will save money as you starve yourself. Oh, be warned, you will have to take the good old vitamins in order not to contract a fatal bone marrow disease...

my advice will probably suck because of my UBER-METABOLISM! but i suggest just working out.

-walk 30 minutes a day.
-before bed 5 push-ups

it will gradually fade. commitment though, you'll need it.

(once you hit it off you should add on push-ups ofcourse.)

Metabolism ftw. I do 130 push-ups (and 50 sit-ups and 20 'stand-ups') before bed daily and I'm still fattish =P.

Anyway, if you really want to go for it. Don't 'eat less' but work more. Keep yourself tired by taking on as much physical labour as you can (not by not sleeping). As long as you're not completely exhausting yourself it should be enough to make you thin out a bit.

That said, I'm no doctor, I can't give you a guarantee that it works, or even that its completely safe.

I really don't understand what people expect when losing weight, there is no miracle cure! I know this isn't what you're suggesting, but it is along the lines of it. Diet changes to high protein, high fiber, and medium carb diet. You'll want at least 60 minutes of exercise a day, whether it's running, swimming, weight lifting, etc. -anything that gets your heart rate up.

You can't just in a week or two lose a big chunk of weight, but over time you can slim down with these lifestyle changes. ALSO: If you start working out a lot - make sure not to deprive yourself of food! Your body will simply not burn as many calories as it normally does (essentially your body will go into a less intense "survival mode"). So dude, just don't focus on losing a big chunk of weight as fast as you can, you can achieve it (vomiting, anorexia) - but it is not healthy, and permanent and slow lifestyle change is the best way.

Also, if you're focusing on getting thinner: weight lifting and muscle build is key. Muscle burns 5x more energy than fat, so you'll burn more calories while exercising, and even when sitting down.

cut down on how much you eat, but make it a progressive process. also do lots of running, get the sweat flying. and plz, try to gain at least a little muscle it will help burn fat just a little quicker. But it's ok you don't have to add in the little extra muscle if you don't want to. Also if you really want to get into shape stay away from the sweets completely.

first, i'd go to a different message board. second, i'd exercise and eat healthy and eat smaller portions. you'll want to lift weights, but not for strength, just lots of reps on lower weights. that will burn fat. stretch and run every day you can. good luck.
this, you'll still build muscle with lots of reps with little weight but the muscle will be tighter and not big and bulky, it'll be stretched out.

Try eating more soup.
It will make you feel full for a long time while containing little calories.
Stay away from the creamy ones though.

Also, stop drinking soda. Unlike soup, this will pass straight through your stomach while containing lots of calories.
Always have water (or tea or something) with your meals.

Whatever you do, don't starve yourself and don't skip meals, that will work in the opposite way in the long run.

When you run, alternate between jogging and sprinting once you've warmed up (ie: jog for 30 seconds, sprint for 30). It's much more exhausting (and taxing on the leg muscles) than running at a moderate, steady pace for a longer period of time. It also does a much better job of increasing your metabolism.

Do cardio one day, and strength/endurance training the next. While you're recovering from a day of running, you can lift weights, and vice versa. This will ensure that you're not losing more muscle than fat.

Eat a lot of foods that contain protein. Lean meats, vegetables, eggs, and milk are all good choices. Protein helps you feel full more effectively than carbohydrates.

You should eat about every 3 or 4 hours in order to keep your metabolism up.

And if you haven't already, eschew white bread in favour of whole wheat. Once you start eating whole wheat on a regular basis, white bread will taste like crap and vice versa.

Swimming is brilliant for losing weight as it works your whole body, especially if you use front crawl instead of breast stroke. Apart from that, walk places you would otherwise drive to, snack on fruit rather than junk food and eat little and often.

The only key to losing weight is eating fewer calories than you burn. Exercise does not play a role in weight loss it just helps to some extent you could say. In all honesty you can sit your fat ass on the couch all day and lose weight as long as you eat fewer calories. So say ur body burns 2000 calories a day when doing nothing. If you eat 1800 calories you will slowly lose weight. Now if you add exercise you will lose weight more quickly but have a larger appetite which is why exercise doesnt always work.

Theres a user group specifically for this topic. http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Fitness-Club

xmetatr0nx, specifically, is always someone whose tips I take to heart.

There is no quick and easy diet/workout system.

Believe me, I tried them all.

They can customize a good fitness plan for you.
