Weird gaming rituals

I pretty much HAVE to be in some sort of euphoric state, turn the lights off, and adjust my pillows. If I really want to immerse myself, I tend to tuck my hands underneath my blankets to hide my controller from sight. During games, it's almost like I forget I'm using a controller at all.
I also I have to have a clean gaming space, and I'm guilty of smelling game manuals too.

My mouse always needs to have some excess cable on the desk. This sometimes leads to pulling it right out of the usb port. Same goes for the keyboard.
I often spend a lot of time adjusting the monitor to a perfect angle.
I also periodically go wash my hands. This can range from every half hour to 2-3 hours. Depends on whether I'm playing something or just surfing.
My mousepad is a wreck, yet I still carry it wherever my PC is. I just can't play right without it.
All that and my desk looks like someone came in with a garbage truck and just dumped everything on it. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I've been known to completely rearrange the living room in order to create the most pleasant gaming conditions. Snack food, beverages and a DS to play during loading screens are all nearby. Everything else must be knocked off the couch to improve leg room. If the conditions are right, I have my dog resting on my legs while I play.
I prop my pillows up. As in, I don't have a chair in front of my Desktop which is a foot above the ground, i just have a big bunch of large flat pillows. My setup is very unorthodox, very comfy and VERY and for my spine! so yes, i prop up my pillows to the correct height and comfy-ness before gaming.
That seems like an AWESOME way to play video games. I wish i had an Console so i could try that. PC gaming is NOT comfortable.Twuk said:

The only drawback is that when I play on my console, it's in Standard Definition (I have HD TVs but none that are in my room) and sometimes a little eye straining. The only way I can think of for you to get a similar experience is to connect a TV to your PC via HDMI or what have you, use a wireless gamepad, and just chill
Thanks for the advice, though the HD thing is naught for me since i game without my glasses on, so i see EVERYTHING a little blurry anyway (wearing glasses for too long gives me a headache, if you must know) but i don't really mind unless the text is too small.(damn you Fallout and Dragon Age!)
And i'm thinking of getting a controller, but am hesitant because i've been using mice and keyboard all my life! it would feel DAMN weird (though i know I'd get used to it eventually)
I feel you about the text, it's a big thing for me. I wear contacts frequently, so when I game in my glasses if the text is illegible I go nuts.GrizzlerBorno said:
As for the controller issue, as long as your not a FPS lover than the learning curve is relatively little. Even so, I favor a mouse and keyboard anyway. I just wish I could find the perfect balance of comfort and playability with my PC gaming as well.

But seriously, the only 'weird' ritualistic thing about gaming for me is that I have to be sat in my 'gaming chair'. It's a really big, comfy thing and it's just more comfortable than sitting on top of my bed with my back arched because it's got no support.

Not so much a ritual, but more a habit...
Whilst gaming (especially during WoW raids) I would chew my lips to the point that blood would run down my chin onto the table and I'd drop everything, run and go get a tissue.
Other than that there's the usual foul language and stuff.
