Here's the scenario. I was surfing and got knocked off my board. This was Northern California during the autumn, so if you dont want to get hypothermia you had to wear a wetsuit. Coincidentally, a diver was near the area and had a camera. He called to his dive buddy "Hey there' an otter here!" and snapped a pic of me from the side. What's bizzare was that he was about 10 feet away. I didn't say anything, and he just swam away, probably going to try to get the photo published in National Geographic of Sierra.

I had one just an hour ago.

As I was walking home at about midnight, I walked past a kid who asked me to pick him up some smokes from the store. no stores were open at the hour that sell smokes in the neighborhood.

I told him this and he went off on a tirade, throwing words like "douchebag" around pretty freely. I attempt to walk home, and he follows me, asking me what I was doing out at midnight, and where I was going, and where I was coming from, and where I worked.

I humored him, as I didn't feel like killing some spazzed out little kid with a vulcan neck pinch, and told him I work at the video store down the street. He goes on to say "Have you seen that movie? It's a VCR movie, that 2012 or some shit? that shits awesome, I watch that shit all the time" and I say "no, I haven't seen it yet" he says "What? You haven't seen it? That's crazy shit"

I then proceed to keep walking and he says "What's your problem man, you seem all pissed off and shit" I just say I need to get home, and then He has another spazz attack and runs across the street.

I was a little freaked out until about 10 minutes ago that I'd hear banging on the door and some crack addled little kid was going to try and break in and I'd have to beat him up.

Some friends and I were in Kansas City for a concert. We were in line and I was having a very involving conversation when a homeless man, making his way down the line, taps me on the shoulder and asks, "Can you spare any change?" I immediately replied, with out thinking or pause, "No thank you." It took me a little while to realize what I had just said, but by that time the guy was well down the line.

I still like it when I sit down in a restaurant and get called 'ma'am or miss' by the waiter. I suppose that's not really a stranger moment, but...eh, it is to me.
