An excerpt from my Steam chat:
"5:20 PM - Allen Shepard: Wow. I was playing Bad Company 2, and I hated the room I was in. Want to know what happened last?
5:25 PM - Allen Shepard: I shot my rival, the token "hacking" heli pilot that never gets hit and never misses while he's the pilot and dodging every shot fired at him. I cought him off guard in another helicopter, and point blanked him with an entire salvo. IN THE COCKPIT. I got hitmarkers for at least 75% of my salvo, and I was close enough that my character could have (And probably did) whip him the bird. His response? Fly under me, fly backwards out from under me, and shoot my 100% health helicopter three times and it explodes. I didn't change my expression (Flat, stone-faced non-expression), as I pressed escape, exited the game, turned off my monitor, walked into the living room in pitch blackness, and sat down on the couch. Did I mention that I also had steady normal breathing, didn't blink, and was also speechless?"
As for discussion value, has anything like this or that can be described with the subject text ever happened to you, regardless of game, or even in real life?
I guess you could also comment on this specific anecdote. Hell, grab a drink, do both, and make it a party.
Fun fact: Still speechless. Currently 5:32 PM in my timezone. Well, I just let out a long, exacerbated sigh; but that doesn't reeeally count...
Fun fact: As of 5:36 PM now not speechless; I broke it by reading what I said out loud. Another fun fact is that I think more people should do that. Means that you re-read it, so you can catch errors, and it also means that it (should/could (potentially)) make (more) sense through the power of editing things that don't make sense and also clarifying on things that might not be overtly presented.
