I'm in a library at my community college and this guy just came in, sat down at the computer. He looked at it and started staring at the keyboard. He just stared at it for like 30 seconds like he's never typed and was hunting for a certain key. After this long stare he just said "Really?", got up, grabbed his stuff and left. I'm now confused beyond belief as to what he was expecting the keyboard to do when he was staring at it...

What things have happened in your presence that have left you completely bewildered?

It's public computer, everything is logged on, only thing you need password for is printing and he never got past the desktop

Maybe he was a drug dealer and was expecting a pot drop or something?
In a library? No way.

Anyways, with something like that, who knows. I doubt it was the drug drop theory, but he could've been messing with you, or it could be something more serious. For instance, if he had something like dyslexia, and he'd been getting treatment, and thought he'd be able to use the keyboard, but then it turned out that his treatment hadn't been as successful as he'd hoped. So after staring at a keyboard he couldn't use, he got up in frustration and left.

It's just a random probably not true theory, but it's a theory nonetheless.

Well, funny thing. This happened at MY community college. In the lab, without provocation, the computer started up all on its own, moved its own mouse (on the screen, not the physical mouse), and gained its own access. It was not designed for remote startup in any fashion.

That reminds me when the guy that constantly tried to 1-up me went into the library to a computer, sat down, started shaking the mouse, turning the screen off and on and then thinking for a few seconds.

...before I came passed and pushed the power button.

Totally bizarre. People baffle me.

One kid at my college was stood by the printer saying 'But printer, I can't give you any more paper until I get some, that's why I'm printing! Cmon printer, give me more paper so you can print!' about a week ago. Haven't seen him since...

Like all good relationships there must be a little give and take, I can understand your peers pain.

I have to take my printer out on dates clothe shopping, then cook it a romantic meal and write a 2000 word essay before I can begin negotiations with it to print out my works.

If your maths teacher has an Epson SX100, tell him to stay away from my girl.

Oh no, his printer is male. He once had an argument with a chap in class about how his printer most certainly did not have sex with other male printers, it got very heated.
That's going to be one hell of an awkard talk if his printer is gay. I don't think he'd take it very well D:

My friend has a program that will let a remote computer star4t up and let him control the mouse. He uses it on his friends that have open wifi connections. I told him if that shit ever happened to me, I won't evenwait for it to stop, I'll do down to his house and beat his ass

...which is why I pointed out that these computers weren't setup for that. They literally all had to be manually started up by the staff.

Like "Press a start button" Manually turned on by staff? I'm not sure what you mean. By "Remote computer start up" I mean he could basically log in from his computer and control your's. He couldn't turn a computer on from his place.

I mean - and I had seen it personally during my time there - that you could not switch on the computers by any other means than to go from compy to compy, press the on switch, and set it up via your password. There was no wifi in the room, and I'm pretty sure the receiving computer has to have a certain bit of software in order to allow remote startup. Can you see a community college installing that, a potential element to disrupt someone trying to get online and do stuff while another guy who's already online pokes around? Nah...
