were you ever bullied in school?

I was bullied in school, sure.

At least, until I got sent to the principal's office for breaking noses, splitting lips, and kicking them in the Jimmy. Repeatedly, on most counts.

Funny thing about bullies. Fight back, and win, and you'll be left alone by the others. Then again, I often wonder if it is a bad thing that: I absolutely LOVED beating the shit out of a bully. Such a wonderful feeling to make someone a whole head taller than you cry after they tried to shove your head in the toilet. And number 2: That I didn't become a bully myself due to my liking of inflicting violence.

And this was before I became a gamer. :\ Like...Elementary and Middle school. Highschool, I never had to worry about it, considering I was allowed to carry a pocketknife, and made quite the public display of having it whenever I thought someone was thinking of taking my lunch money.

Skinny, small guy, Irish name, god, I was beaten up daily. Tried to fight back, but they always attacked in groups. And some psychopath set me on fire. Fucking deodorant-can flamethrower.

Oh. And my first relationship was two years of being deliberately fucked with. I only found this out yesterday, because apparently my brain has been neglecting to remember certain, important events. So, yeah, repressed memories. Hooray.

Seriously, though. High school was a nightmare. Couldn't talk to family about it. I told my parents I was being bullied, they replied 'No you aren't, and that was the end of that.

I was bullied in elementary school. The reason ? Geekness. Damn, i was a geek before it... Aw screw it, it was never cool to be a geek. Then i took an arrow to the knee.

Anyway.
Years later, still holding the grudge i joined various martial arts sections, broke a few bones (both mine and someone elses), gained some experience, witnessed a thing or two, understood the difference between being alive and dead and stuff. When i met my "tormentors" some time later i saw small, tiny mannequines that simply wasted their lives. I felt only pity for them. Nothing more. Is there a lesson in this ? I'm not sure.

Nope. Which now that I've thought back on it, it quite surprising.

This isn't the first post where I've mentioned I had Tritchotillimania. It started in grade 6, but no one really said anything about it. It didn't get really bad until grade 8, but even then I didn't, nor when I got into high school.

I can only think of two reasons for this:

1. This applies mostly to grade school, but I was a popular guy. I was more athletic than most, smarter than most, always helpful. No one really made fun of me. I did get asked "Do you have cancer?" once, and that was from an older grade. Most of my bullying was self inflincted.

2. Once it started, My attendance started dropping dramatically, since since my disorder is a symptom of depression. I regularly missed about 50 days a year, even more, well into high school. My only guess is that I wasn't around long enough to be bullied.

This is just speculation, I don't know why I never was.

Not bullied in primary school because I was bigger than everyone else in my class, I may have been responsible for some slight bullying myself but nothing anywhere near what u guys are talking about, just some dead arms and maybe some headlocks usually to smart asses. I wasn't quick with verbal insults shit talking wasn't something that came naturally to me so I let my strength do my talking.

High School was a slightly different story because I was tall I did get involved in quite a few fights won a few but they weren't real fights. There were one or two serious fights one of which I definitely came away second best, lost alot of blood that day.

But fights weren't my real problem it was the verbal taunts that lasted from day one and didn't end until I left in year 11 (this is in Australia folks). I earn't a terrible nick name that pretty much guaranteed that wasn't going to get layed during my high school years and to top it off and I developed debilitating acne(thankfully dealt with by medication however the side effect being that I now have a constant moon tan no matter how much sun I get oh also I am more susceptable to skin cancer, but at the time I would have done anything to get rid of it so I swallowed as many as i could get my hands on). It might not sound bad but my high school years completely shattered my confidence and ability to talk to girls. I still suffer to this day from a complete lack of confidence around women. And let me tell you lack of confidence in man is a very unsexy characteristic in case u haven't already worked that out kids.

Yeah, a bit. In 6th Grade I had a guy who insulted me a bunch and called me a dork, but I'd thank him now because in a way he taught me to fight my own battles instead of running to the teacher. I ended up swearing him out which caused him to tell the Dean. (As if he was the victim)

Also in 7th Grade this guy in art class, one of those dumbass stoners who took it because he didn't want to do any work, would insult me from time to time. I still get angry thinking about this because he always got away with it and just did it to impress his friends. He still goes to my school but just ignores me now.

In 9th Grade I had this fat kid who sat next to me in science and kept insulting me, one punch was all it took to shut him up, though

Then there was a short kid who sat behind me in Math, and just picked at me. I ended up punching him in the face five times as he left the classroom and then almost throwing him against a locker before deciding I was already in enough shit. So I just let him go. I actually got off scotfree, I still can't believe a teacher didn't see it.

Never been bullied. In fact, everyone always liked me throughout all of elementary and high school.

The 'worst' fight I've ever been in was when I grabbed a kid with my nails and made him bleed in elementary school, haha!

But my god, all these horrible stories! Where were your teachers, your friends, your family?

Grade School - A bit. There was this one time though, when me and a few classmates of mine were playing a "Home Defense" game(two teams with at least 3 players on each team. Each team picks a tree, post or rock as "Home Base". Objective is to touch the opposing players "Home"). I was guarding our "Home Base", when one of the opponents(and who also bullied me) approached holding a Metal-Cutting Jigsaw Blade(the human-powered one, not the electric one) in his hand like a knife.

Let's just say I got a scar in my middle finger, and him not coming to school for the whole year, and the next year after that. Didn't even get a chance to report him.

High School - I started wearing glasses in my 1st year, 'cause of my eyesight going bad. I was part of a club who's job was to help out in the Library, and they installed a Computer Room there. I was inside, looking up 9gag when a student(maybe a 3rd year) sneaked in. While me and the rest inside the Computer Room paid for using the computers, he didn't, and was ordered by the Librarian to get out, but he didn't comply. Being a club member that helps out the library, I forcibly booted him out of the room, to which he gave me a look that meant ill-will. When I got out of the room, he and a group of his classmates confronted me, and started bad-mouthing me. I took it all in stride, until he told me the "If you didn't have glasses on..." line.

I promptly removed my glasses and put them on a safe place, and just stood there. Since nothing happened after a few minutes, I put my glasses back on and walked away.

Although, if someone hits me, I hit back. And I'm the type who uses anything to my advantage. Since I also know that Authority Figures are Useless nowadays. Even my math teacher tried it on me, but during one of her classes I gave her such a look that it scared her. And she was supposed to be a scary teacher. My mom even had me try to apologize for that!

I was severely bullied when I was 10 to 11. My name used to be Robyn, so I was constantly met by people pushing me around and quoting lyrics from Robyn's songs. (Famous Swedish female singer).
Around here, Robyn is a girls name, and Robin is a unisex name.

Short story long, I had a girls name so everyone thought it'd be funny to take teasing to a whole new level.

At age 11 I changed my name to Alexander and moved away from that town and I've been happy ever since.

I started homeschooling in Grade 7 because I was ready to snap. I never went back into "public" education until college.

Nothing says "betrayal" like a chuck of ice thrown into your balls by your best friend.

So... yeah. Bullied.
I had friends like that in intermediate school. Glad I made some better ones in high school.

Yep, because I'm short

In year 8 I was bullied for most of the year.
But it turned out OK because the ring leader of the bullies moved so the other bullies were lost and fell down the social chain.

Another kid who was bullied by them became friends with me and he became pretty ripped. No one can mess we me because of him. We don't do anything to antagonise but its security

Quite a bit during my early to mid teen years.
Mainly because the group I hung out with played video games and yu-gi-oh, and as one girl put it "didn't like things normal boys like, like football (aka soccer)"

Yu-gi-oh was met with jeers of "Hahaha you like playing with bits of cardboard!?" to which we responded with "Yeah..and what do you do in your spare time?"

Turns out the two main "bullies" enjoyed stealing boxes of crisps from local football games, setting trees on fire, and destroying peoples gardens.

What can I say, I guess not everyone enjoys the same things.

I was never bullied in fact I was quite popular in school for no apparent reason. I swear at the beginning of the term no one in my class would know me but at the end I was the most popular kid in the class without doing anything, I still don't understand why it happened.
Me too! Its like the harder you try to avoid people the more they like you. Sit in the back of the class looking wholly uninterested in people and they come to love you, people are strange.

Oh yeah, ever since about the 5th grade on it wasn't pleasant.

I had stuff constantly stolen from me and picked on like there was no tomorrow.

Despite the fact that my high school had a 'zero tolerance' for that it still happened, but in parking lots and openly during lunch. Funny that.
My high school was the same way. Except our "zero tolerance" meant if any saw you bullying a freshman, or a kid from special ed, you were going to have the shit kicked out of you for the rest of the school year by every able bodied student in the school.

Hell one kid had to transfer schools cause he beat one of the special ed students up on his first day. He lost three teeth before he left.

Yep

Most of the time it was verbal but occasionally I'd be physically attacked too, all because I was different. I became very insular, misanthropic and bitter as a result but one day I snapped when someone punched me in the back of the head "for fun".

I'd been learning martial arts for a while and there is something very satisfying about landing a near-perfect crescent-kick (Sweet Chin Music to WWE fans) to someone's jaw.

Funnily enough, a lot of the bullying stopped after that.

I was bullied in early primary school and then I became a bully myself for late primary school no one bothered me in high school I took that as a fresh start and kept to myself completely.

Elaboration edit:I was picked on for poor hygiene and the fact I acted like a freak. I managed to make friends with the bullies and became one myself somehow after I had improved my hygiene and found that we were really just a big bunch of friends in the end. In high school everyone kept to themselves and so did I my bully friends were still friends and they kept to themselves also as they became more focused on their education or skipping school depending on which one you were talking about.

Hm i think i was lucky as i was abit of a fat lump but played rugby outside of school at a local youth team. We have a 3 tier school system where im from so basically the last 3 years of your compulsary education is at a new school which is fed by 3 other smaller schools.

To cut a long story short for the first 2 weeks i had the standard big man douche bag picking on me as i was quiet and abit fat. We then after cross country had our first rugby match this guy was used to running through everyone so he ran straight at me... Classic dump tackle followed by a few good stamps to the ribs as he didn't release the ball. Needless to say most of the people who didn't know me very well were shocked lol

I got left alone after this and just made friends with everyone, made sure i took the time to chat to the outcast guys as well as i know how they felt.

As i said i was lucky school could have sucked dick if i hadn't played rugby...

Also i have been dubbed good guy greg (refrencing the meme ofc) a title i am most fond of lol.
