graphics have 2 interpretations one is the engine based and another i the inherent visual graphics

i regard bad graphics when the engine itself has a hard time powering the inherent visual graphics, A.K.A lag
on that note i don't care if the visual graphics are huge choppy polygons as long as the engine itself can keep up with them and the result is a smooth game.

Bad graphics are not graphics that look dated, but rather graphics that literally interrupt the game by getting in the way when you're trying to play. This, coupled with bad collision-detection, can made any game less enjoyable than hot coffee all over my lap...

Your lap...

Whatever.

bad graphics are much more unrealistic graphics than the current norm, and by unrealistic i don't mean purpously done graphics, or stylized graphics, like tf 2. i mean pixelated games and games where you don't understand what a thing is, hard to explain tho :D

Bad graphics are a concept created by idiots so they do not have to play good games. Its all relative really.

I figured bad graphics to be any visual aspect of a game that break the suspension of disbelief.

Some people just don't have anything intelligent to say, so they comment on their first impression. That's also why devs spend so much on the graphics and forget the gameplay at times.

To hell with "good graphics" playing the original fallout games has taught me that if the game is fun then it doesn't matter, and if it's a crappy game with "good graphics" then it's still a crappy game.
And as such "good graphics" never enter my criteria for how good a game is.

In keeping with the Bad graphics vs. Bad aesthetics; Rainbow Six Vegas had both. Too much bloom; Poorly allocated UV/texture space usage, bad looking normal maps, and the "I'll just set the Specular Term to FLAT WHITE, it'll look good." No, it looks like it's been dipped in baby oil.
the PC version of RS:V2 the scope on top of the MTAR looks as though it hadn't even been finished, the vertex normals are all screwed up. (They may have fixed this with a patch by now).
That is Bad Graphics; when the Developers illustrate a level of laziness/incompetence. Considering the engine they were using, there is no excuse. Bad/outdated tech, on the other hand, can still be used to a good looking result.
