Clockwork Empires, I'll listen to, well, basically anything else.

The game is still early access and it's a very slow-paced game, but the music is TERRIBLE. If you turn it off, it's just a really really quiet game, so when I do play I'll usually put on some music or something in the background.

Levelling in Wildstar, though the games OST is excellent I've had The Megas on loop while grinding up my Warrior

Like the game's full OST...

OT: I seem to do that a lot when playing some Pokémon Shuffle and Pokémon Rumble... The formal when grinding for coins and the latter until the clear screen pops up since it's the only song in that game so far I could listen to on repeat...

Other than that, any RPG grindfest I do ends up with me listening to the respected game's full soundtrack in the process...

Nuclear Throne, Crusader Kings 2 and The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth are usually my go-to "podcast games".

When I am playing Pokemon, I tend to be watching/listening to Let's plays on Youtube, especially when I am just grinding my team. At the moment I am watching Slimkirby playing Pokemon Gold while I am playing Pokemon Fire red.

I always enjoyed raiding to some epic movie soundtrack or another. Just imagine fighting Arthas - the Lich King to this - [youtube=D9s18rUaubc

Diablo 3 springs to mind straight away. Tedious grinding with no need for sound effects means i can listen to some nice grinding metal ^_^

Since it wasn't limited to 'computer games' i'll also add Warhammer 40,000 and Necromunda :p

Thanks to subtitles, I can usually play Phantom Pain while listening to the cheesy 80s music I've collected throughout the game, without it having any effect on my performance. It's also where I choose to update myself on all the exposition recordings. It's handy, because as fun as the game is when it's time to do stuff, there can be a bunch of wait periods, when I'm in the helicopter, traveling to a new location, waiting for a drop, or waiting for an enemy to turn his head. It also drowns out Quiet's annoying humming.

At first, I only listened to the exposition before selecting a mission, while in the helicopter. I didn't know what I was missing.

Basically MMOs and stuff without a narrative (I mute things when Warframe has events and stuff) I'm invested in hearing make the best "Podcast or Youtube Time" games.

Makes grinding in RPGs less tedious too.

Ah, yes, the one part in Matrix: Revolutions that actually gave me chills. When the 2 of them were facing off as the first part of this song echoed through the theater. That was some good shit right there.

OT: I usually play the following while listening to other stuff:

Hearthstone
Heroes of the Storm
Various MMO's
Sheletered. ( A really fun early access on Steam. Sort of like Fallout: Shelter, but more 8bit, and kind of brutal in what it lets you do. It's a rogue-like game that can be pretty brutal if you don't work right)

That's about it these days. Most other games I play require audio cues to play (Payday 2, Dishonored, Deus Ex, etc), so when I'm playing those, the audiobooks are turned off.

I'm also somebody that has to do stuff in the background while playing some games. Either listen to podcasts or watching TV shows.

Games where I like doing this:
Binding of Isaac, Cities: Skylines, Europa Universalis, Civilization, WoW. So, mainly games that don't have a real story behind them and not much dialogue.

Every Visual Novel I play I end up playing my own music instead of the ingame choices. Usually I try and match the music to the scenes which is something that I have gotten pretty good at if I say so myself

I also played a lot of Ennio Morricone while I was playing Red Dead Redemption which was of course very fitting

I tend to listen to online news while playing FTL, Any civilization-style strategy game, while working on combat or bugtesting in one of my RPGs, or Minecraft/Terraria.

Basically, something that's not super super intense.

So recently, one of the content creators of this site, GoodBadFlicks, did a video on a game called Nom Nom Galaxy you can find here:

He makes mention that the game was pretty good for listening to a podcast or playlist in the background near the end. Which reminded me that I've actually been trying to find engaging games that can do that too, other than a few I do this with already.

So what do you play like to play while listening to something else?
MMOs and ARPGs tend to be fantastic for this (have got through so many series while grinding in WoW).
