What are some things you "should" be ashamed of, but you're PROUD of it instead?

... Guess i'll use myself as an example for this topic.

Paid $2 for an erotic game that had anthropomorphic characters, and got this background when turning the cards in. Should I be ashamed that i'm displaying it? Probably, but the art is so damn good and I love the characters, I kind of don't give a shit.

Hard working artists made these, and I feel it's a better background than 88% of all the backgrounds that exist on Steam currently.
What about you guys? Got anything you aren't ashamed of despite feeling like you should?

.. Too real my dude. I want to laugh at this, but it's actually kind of worrisome that society feels this way towards us.

Man i'd trade places with you in a heartbeat.
Hold up, I'm not Christian, so don't sign on the dotted line just yet. There's probably a better deal out there.

I mean, am I allowed to be proud of my British heritage? Did some horrible things, no question there, but also accomplished some amazing feats and have a cultural history as rich as any other culture.

To those with privilege, equality feels like oppression.

I play PUBG in 3rd person. Apparently that makes me scum to first person perspective players... nevermind that the game was designed first and foremost for 3rd and there's barely enough players in this country for 3PP as it is...

Last few years I got over my shyness and my bad tempers come out when people treat me shitty at work or wherever. I should be ashamed of my bad temper but I do kinda like that I can stick up for myself now.

And hey, don't be ashamed of your hentai it is very nice art. I might even think about fucking that blonde dog too lol.

After a week-long undergrad extracurricular trip, or more accurately a week-long bender on my part, I delayed our 3 1/2 hour return-home trip by 45 minutes due to whiskey shits. Then I proceeded to unleash weapons-grade, paint-peeling, straight from the bowels of hell, farts the entire trip home. This trip was in deadass winter, the area was in the middle of a low-pressure system bringing arctic winds south which meant extra-extra cold weather, and we had to ride that entire 3.5 hour trip with the windows in the 15-passenger van down. Many air fresheners were purchased at gas stations along the way home.

My colleagues were not happy with me. Nor my professor, who had rented the van for an entire week; we came home on a Saturday, and he returned the van to the rental place on Monday, only to discover after an entire weekend of sitting in his driveway the cabin still reeked of whiskey farts.

EDIT: Oh hell, I forgot what actually triggered this. The prof took us to a steakhouse the night before we left and treated us as a way of saying thank you, and for all the hard work we put in. Not only did I have asparagus as a side for my steak, I managed to shovel an entire blooming onion down my food-hole.

I don't know, maybe drawing cartoons? Cartoons are sorta looked down on by society, right? I drew something again after a long while and it felt kinda good. I don't know if it was pride though.

I was once a paid mercenary on Darkfall and ruthlessly pk'd people and made them rage quit the game. They were assholes so no, I am not ashamed. I am a bit ashamed that I was also a paid merc on Runescape and had an account that didn't leave the wilderness for 5 years that I slaughtered tons of players with, but I am more ashamed that it was on Runescape rather than that I Pk'd all those players. I only hunted Pkers not just random people doing non pvp stuff so I don't really feel bad for them since they were trying to kill unarmed players to begin with.

Oh goodie. Can't even get to page 2 without identity politics being brought in.

Truth be told, I've always been wary of "I'm proud to be X," with X standing in for nationality, ethnicity, sexuality, or any other arbitarily defined trait. You want to be proud, be proud of what you do, not what you are. And yes, I know that there's a case to be made for "pride" when power dynamics aren't equal, but as a principle? Yeah. To quote Keffka, "identity is a cage waiting for a bird to fly into it."

Anyway:

In seriousness though, if that's all we have to worry about, that isn't too bad a deal, relatively speaking.

Not comfortable with the word "proud" as there's nothing that reaches such great heights of personal contentment. But one thing I don't regret which many are very judgemental of (stuff I never bring up unless in certain types of acceptable company or anonymously) is chemical experimentation and expanding the mind's experiences throughout past years, for I do believe, overall, it has shaped a different and much more appreciated perspective in life, contributing to a marginally less shitter version of self. Even the scarier moments. All in moderation, dear.

Interesting time for this thread to be made. So, here's the thing: I just got an invitation for a job interview at a brothel. As a receptionist and secretary, in case you were wondering if you'll soon be able to buy an hour or two of revolutionary pleasure from a sexy Bavarian communist. Now, even though it's a perfectly respectable job in what seems to be a perfectly respectable establishment there's still a stigma attached to work, even around, the sex industry. Still, I applied for the job and it's unironically the first company after I've started looking for a new job to even invite me to an interview. So now, I'd be proud to get a job there. And not the least bit ashamed.

There's something about equitable distribution across the working class in there. Give me time and I'll find it.

OT: For me, I did moot court back in high school and undergrad. And I always took pride when I was able to convince the judges of the correctness of my position, even when my position was "wrong" by many conventional definitions.

Do they offer employee discounts? See, there's a question I should be ashamed of on so many different levels, but nope, I'm damned proud to have been the one to ask it.

I mean, if you work at a brothel and you're not getting fringe benefits like that, your employer is really screwing you over.

Joking aside, I know that in Nevada prostitutes work as independent contractors and I think, based on what I've read, that in Germany they mostly act as employees.
