There probably won't be any announcement of HL2 EP3 info. They'll probably wait till next year and say it will release on the 21 December 2012

1. New crazyass portal 2 combat-puzzle multiplayer game
2. wasn't it League of Legends they bought? If so then better version of that released alongside new content for Alienswarm
3. L4D and L4D2 expansion pack that expands the story and takes you to europe, gives you new weapons and items as well as new infected. L4D in Shaun of the Dead style . Or a GOTY of L4D2 that contains L4D1 as well as all the addons.

1) Half Life 3 will be released about December 1st, no hype whatsoever to create a media storm and absolute chaos in games stores and online
2) The world will now run on Valve time
3) A paper will be released existentially proving that the cake is, once and for all, not a lie

You know, I've been suspecting that Valve will release Episode 3 with little to no warning. Kind of funny though, because I then believe the world will stop spinning and won't start again until everyone has played it. Releasing it thus, in December, would be a smart move.

Their first surprise is Hal-life 2 episode 3

The second is that Half-life 3 and Portal 3 will be the same game.
You will have to use the gravity gun and the portal gun at the same time.

By no means will it be Half Life 3, Half Life Episode 3, or anything Half Life related. And you know what? I don't really care. Valve can do what they want. They're a damn good dev.

most likely episode 3 coming out but im not too fussed, seen as half life 2 and both subsequent episodes were really same-y i.e. poor lighting, a terribly controlled car section that lasts for hours on end, and a lack of an aiming feature which for an fps is a bit tricky, especially at some points in the game that made you shoot from long distance and bullets were spraying everywhere because you can only aim from the hip.

the biggest surprise they could announce is that in episode 3 Gordon is going to actually say something, like the fact every encounter with the resistance you get to they are all *oh noes a 40ft robot is heading our way* and alyx is all *gordon will do it, gordon just loves to do it dont you gordon* i would love for him to turn round and say *no *****, stop sending me on these suicide missions and do it your damn-self, im going home iv not eaten in months...*
