Doom Eternal: Just got done doing all of Nekravol 1 twice because some idiot on the dev team thought it'd be a good idea to ask for one specific Glory Kill against an enemy there's only two of in the whole mission, both right at the end, when pulling out specific Glory Kills is extremely finicky, demanding precision of the player that it doesn't offer the tools to consistently perform. And since a checkpoint triggers the instant both Doom Hunters are dead, you have to redo the literal, actual entire mission over from the start if you don't get it. At least it's relatively short.

The game is still really good, but if you're a completionist, expect to occasionally have a rough time. This is the most significant criticism I have of the game so far; take that as you will.

Started playing BG3, liking it but somewhat confused that it blew up massively when most other CRPG that came out in the last few years are of similar quality and didn't. I guess the bear fucking is what did it?

Anyway, I'm extremely confused by a decision the dev took, in dialogue, whoever started the dialogue is stuck doing all the skill check in it, no matter what. This is frankly very bizarre, the other characters are literally right behind you, they quite often interject mid conversation if they have something to add, but they will not, no matter how out of dept you are, step in to help you. They would leave someone to die because of your fail attempt at medicine check rather than just go ''I got this boss'' and easily doing it. This means before every conversation, or really any interaction, you need to quicksave so you can reload and use the correct character if a skill check comes up, oh and if there`s multiple, too bad. To make things even more infuriating, there`s a button to switch character in conversation, but it switch to character out of conversation and they can't interact with the conversation.

Honestly this is borderline game breaking for me I tried to look for a mod to fix this, but the only thing I could find was something to make it so it always use the highest skill check in party, which isn't really what I want since there's plenty of situation where it makes sense for the character to not get help from the party.

Sight, this is classic Larian, both divinity were also plagued by baffling decision that ruined the experience.

Replayed Papers, Please. Still a fantastic fun little game. You wouldn't think a game about filling out paperwork would make a good game, but it's actually very satisfying. It's also fun to be in a position of minor authority over the miserable peons trying to cross the border and to essentially ruin their lives over bureaucracy. Oh, you thought you were going to immigrate to Arstotzka? Too bad, you should have thought of that before you wrote on your passport that you were a man even though you look like a woman. No I'm not going to scan your genitals to double check, that would take too much time and I'd make less money. Rejected! Enjoy figuring out what you are going to do now! It's a good feeling.

Finished the Liberty Island opening of Deus Ex and spoke with a few people at HQ and am about to head to New York City. Previously, only played Human Revolution twice when it was still new.

A shipwreck after the big bank heist? Do you know how random a shipwreck is? Does Rockstar think every third ship back then sank? This story is just plodding along randomly. Also, why are you making me hold W to walk forward? Just make it a cutscene instead of using this fake, lame middle.

In the bank heist, they had me unlock another safe by slowly moving the mouse left and right, but it automically clicked at each correct number called out by the other character, so there was no point in making that interactive either. Everything is so fake.

haven't started it yet, due to clair obscura 33 éclairs still entrancing, but felt inclined to make record of its existence in case I died beforehand, to insist it exists. it also was playing hard to get after buying, where it said it was downloading on the app store but the console dashboard made it look like I hadn't bought it at all, whenever I clicked on the price though it said I already bought it and wouldn't elaborate with anything as generous as an option to, you know, download the thing it says I bought. nevermind that noise however, see that pun? what a damn pun, gotta love an original attempt...it's the unoriginal puns that cause the commonly experienced backlash I believe: if people put more effort into their punnage they wouldn't have gained the ominous reputation they have these days - anyway that's today's useless yapping out the way with;

A quirky combination of roguelite rpg and city builder mixed into one! Sitting atop a vast network of mystical caves is your little gnome village. Send out your team of gnomes on rogue-lite runs to bring back resources so you can expand your team and tiny kingdom. As you grow your village of little prospectors, you’ll unlock new abilities for your gnomes, uncover new biomes, and take on bizarre creatures and extraordinary vegetation lurking underground.
it's on the PCs too, I only use the playstation trailers cos for whatever reason they seem provide longer trailers

got an 80 on metacritic, PC, and 75 to 80 for Switch. playstation mysteriously lacking reviews, hmm, hopefully not an indication of untoward disparity

there's another gnome game out same day called gnomes and knights, is there some kinda annual gnome holiday this time of year or something?

Why are you still playing it, then? Nothing is stopping you from just uninstalling the game and walking away.
He's a masochist. He only takes pleasure in wringing misery from everything he touches. I can't recall a single positive thing he's posted about any games he's played since being on this site. Oh, I think he loves Max Payne or something like that, but other than that, everything is awful according to him. I'd say he should "touch grass," but I know he'd just complain about how it's "too green."

Streets of Rage 4. That was all the way back in 2020-2022. He never said pretty much anything positive after that when it came to games.

He needs....

Tekken 2 & 3. Both are still fun games, but obviously the first sequel still has its rough spots. The soundtrack it's still great for the PlayStation version. Tekken 3, still plays great today. I played as my favorite, Forest Law. Tekken Force is still fun, So the controls are somewhat awkward when you need to sidestep out of the way. Still better than whatever the hell T5's 'TF' was supposed to be.

Here's how bad I am at Elden Ring, I finally had a couple of minutes to play for the first time in a couple of weeks, and instead of trying Radagon/Elden Beast again, I decided to wander around trying out different weapons and stuff. Lo and behold, I found a Minor Erdtree I hadn't discovered. Y'know, those MASSIVE trees scattered around that you can't miss and serve as landmarks for every sensible adventurer? Yeah, I missed one. I don't know how either; I had already unlocked the site of grace you can clearly see the tree from, so I was obviously in the area at some point.

All done with John Wick Hex. I gave the time trials a go but the game is simply unfair about it - you don't even get a clock to keep track of the time, despite the whole game being about how many seconds you spend per turn. For reference you're supposed to beat the first level with a par of 205 seconds. I tried keeping track with a clicker but some actions are fractioned into milliseconds, and of course some are interrupted, so in the end it was a lost cause. Tried a few times and best I could do was 209 seconds, but it's frustrating playing blindly like that. Not to mention the RNG regarding enemy numbers and their placement, but I'm done bitching about the game.

EDIT: Yay, got 'em. 188 seconds.

You complained like three months ago about me jerking off to Tomb Raider (because you dislike it) and other old games and should remember the good things I said about Crysis, since you replied after my complaints about the ending, or are you so selective and vindictive that you ignored/forgot my compliments. Not to mention my post of all the games I finished and enjoyed in 2024, with Arkham City being the only real failure.

Why am I still playing Red Dead 2? Why more frequently now, in this three year playthrough? Technical reasons. Boredom. For the sake of criticism. Because I can't watch movies in peace here. Pretty sure NerfedFalcon already asked me before.

I didn't complain about that. I may not have never been a hardcore fan, but I don't hate you for enjoying the original trilogy or whatever else floats your boat.

Crysis we agreed the ending was shit for both of us. Though I dislike the last 2/3 in general, and I prefer both sequels over the original.

Whatever makes you sleep at night or convinces yourself. Not my problem.

I am going to pop in the Serious Sam Collection. I grabbed the game on sale. That, and this indie run and gun platformer called Steel Assault. Both I got deep discounts on PSN before the sale ended.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
I grabbed Granblue Fantasy Relink, the action rpg thing they made. Its pretty cool, the story is kinda twee anime and some of the voices are annoying (in the dub, not sure about sub but since they talk in combat I'm just doing dub). But the action is pretty good if a bit stiff, especially compared to something like Devil May Cry 5 or something, but its still good and has some really awesome set pieces and boss fights.

Serious Sam: Second Encounter HD - My favorite and the best of the franchise. You just go and start killing immediately and the game does not let up. The first quarter of the game where you are in Ancient Mesmoamerica are the best and most unique levels and set pieces in the game. Currently on stage 2 right now.
