I would really like to come back to the original Xbox, it had a shitload of hidden gems (Wreckless, MechAssault, Conker Live and Reloaded, Midtown Madness 3, Jet Set Radio Future, Ghost Recon 2, Brute Force) that werent available anywhere else.

Well I don't have my PS1 anymore. The closest I can get to 'going back to' would be the PS2 which I got this year, y'know being tempted to play Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2-4, Shadow of the Colossus, Sands of Time trilogy and stuff like that.

PS3. I guess?
I don't have any old consoles anymore.

I really wish I still had my Xbox though. Josemlopes is right, there were a good number of hidden little gems on it.
And the thing was sturdy as hell and still booted up last time I touched it. (2-3 years ago)

Ps2. I actually still buy ps2 games every once in a while. Remember when games used to be about quality over quantity?

No matter how many new games I play, i always find myself going back to the Dreamcast once in a while.

There's just something about it, that makes it so fun to play on even now. I think it's a mixture of brilliant games coupled with the fact that most of them still look fantastic, and are very playable even now. I could waste hours playing on a dreamcast game, which is quite a struggle for me with much newer games.

I also like going back to the 3DO, and Saturn, mainly to sample the many forgotten gems, that those two systems have. The 3DO in particular has quite a lot of them, which isn't bad for a constantly lambasted console.

Gamecube. There are a lot of games me and my friends go back and play. The Gamecube just had the best 4 player split screen games. We usually go back to Super Smash Bros Melee and Kirby Air Ride. It still confuses me that Kirby Air Ride got mediocre review scores during its time

Gamecube. Just for Metroid Prime and Mario Kart: Double Dash. I play through Metroid Prime on an almost annual basis, and I start up Double Dash every couple of months to play with my brother. Both of those games are just so damn good.
Metroid Prime 1 > sex

One of these days I'm going to have to download dolphin emulator and see how well that game upscales to HD and play through it. I'll just need a Gamecube controller adapter for my PC. I wish I still had my game boy advanced link cable so I could play through my Gamecube version as Fusion Suit Samus

Neither, really, but I've played a bit of PS1/PS2 games the past year and I got plenty more to try again. Hadn't touched them for over ten years before that. Huge trip down nostalgia lane! Most often it left me disappointed however.

Technically I went back to the PC though. The only thing I really played on it for the past six years was MMOs. All my other games was on my 360 and the later on PS3. Returned a few months ago when I noticed there were shitloads of really cheap bundles online. My Steam library has gone from 10 games, since 2003, to 112. Got quite the back log. x.x

Playstation 2, for the following excellent reasons:

Grim Grimoire. Odin Sphere. Zone of the Enders 2. The Bouncer.

I actually emulate because my hardware PS2 failed a long time ago, but that's neither here nor there.

Eckbawk treesigdy.

Also the original Xbox. Or I would but half the games I like for it (Psi Ops, Mercenaries, Painkiller, Timesplitters: Future Perfect...) aren't compatible with the 360 and since my original Xbox is sitting in pieces in some dumpster right now by no fault of my own, I can't play them anymore and I have to sell them.

Barring that, I'll also launch up my N64 emulator and just screw around with the original Super Smash Bros. To this day, it's still fun.

PS2... Can't get enough Persona in my diet! It's so damn good!! (Sure, there's also the HD collections of certain PS2 titles, but I still count it as playing the game on my PS2...) Plus, it gives me an excuse to play old Burnout games using my Limited Edition Kingdom Hearts 2 controller... which is better than my current PS3 controller, that's for sure...

Also, GameCube, hands down... Even though some of those games may never get re-released in HD like with Wind Waker, I'm not complaining... Plus, to me, it has the best controller of the early 21st Century... I just feels SO GOOD!!

NES, I've rarely seen the same challenge on other consoles (not counting PC) that NES games had. I do love modern consoles and still will play them, but my baseline for difficulty stems from NES games where you got 3 things when you bought the game:
1. A manual explaining controls, and maybe backstory
2. The Box and cartridge sleeve
3. The cartridge itself

Other than that, there were no tutorials, no GAMEFAQS, no hintbooks beyond Nintendo Power (until later years). Nothing but play experience and maybe friends who'd played the game previously to help you figure out what the fuck to do.

Ghosts n' Goblins, one of the damn best games and hardest games I've ever played. Capcom, what the hell happened to ye?

PS2. Replaying 'Wizardry:Tale of the Forsaken Lands' right now. After I get tired of it/need a change of pace, I'll probably go to either 'Silent Hill 2' or 'Fatal Frame'.

My next go-to console is the NES. Just the Castlevania series alone is reason enough to keep going back to it.

I think i spend more time playing ps1 and 2 these days than i do playing ps3, and i probably spend more money buying games for those systems than ps3. There's just so many great games i never got to play, i keep finding new cool stuff while i'm running out of new games from this generation.

Just started playing Shadow Hearts 2, Onimusha 4 and Castlevania: Lament of Innocence, defineately not complaining. And i'm going to revisit Project Zero and Forbidden Siren 2 when i get the time.
