Wii: It was a family present, it was good for a while but for the last 2 years no good game came out whatsoever (well I could go out and look for them but I'm lazy ;3) Good for: the nintendo exclusives like fire emblem radiant dawn, metroid prime, smash brothers, etc.

PS3: It was a family purchase (paied 30-30-30-10% by the parents and all three brother, even the 11 years old one). Really good console IMO, and I'm a die hard pc gamer. Good for: the ps3 exclusives, the rare console game I feel like getting, getting my bros to stop buggering me for my computer. Demon soul and metal gear solid 4 are both really fun, and I plan to get some more games at some point

Nintendo DS: THE best console of this generation hands down,it has a MASSIVE library of game and tons of great ones and hidden gems. It's incredibly cheap (100$) and it's portable. Good for: the world ends with you, the rune factory games, the phoenix wright games to name only a few.

We've got a lot of disposable income it seems ;3

I own a PS3. If I made more money I'd probably get a 360.

However, I am holding onto my buddy's 360 while he's in the Navy.

PS3....

along with my PC anything more seems excessive..I don't need to play every game in existance (though gears of war looks cool)
Don't worry Gears of War sucks
OT: all of them. I like my x-box controller wayyy better. Though I usually play on my pc now. I prefer fps's on my x-box or ps3. I use my pc for bethesda and bioware games(mass effect is on my x-box though being a shooter). I really only use my ps3 for exclusives now. I usually am on my pc(though I wish I had Witcher on my x-box because my laptop is a POS). I might play super smash bros or zelda on my wii some times.
you prefer consoles for shooters?...I can't even

......ewww

Yes I do. I prefer using analogue sticks than a mouse because I am more precise with them. When I try and use the mouse my sights go everywhere except the target.

If we aren't counting old consoles that we still hold onto for retro gaming purposes or PCs, I have an Xbox 360 and a PS3 so I can experience both consoles' exclusives or play multi-platform games on whichever console runs the games as close as they can come to their ideal level of performance(as long as it wasn't originally made for PCs).
It is also in the event that I feel like letting my Xbox Live Gold lapse again, I can still play online multiplayer games on the PS3.

If I ever want to use those old save bonuses for Fire Emblem:path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn again, I might buy a discount priced Wii bundle rather than borrow one. For any other Wii game that I own, I can wait for the release of the Wii U to play them once more.

For me, I have all three for specific purposes:

Wii: The Family-Friendly console that is good for family get-togethers and for any friends that are not a fan of violence. I hate that it does not have a lot of good games, or 720p resolution, and motion controls... fuck I hate this system

Xbox 360: Shooters and perhaps the rare exclusive that blows my mind (Alan Wake). The controller is perfect for playing FPSs. And the XBLA indie titles are AMAZING

PS3: RPGs and everything else. This is my preferred console. The exclusives are fantastic. I love to immerse myself in God of War, Uncharted, Resistance, 3D Dot Game Heroes ETC.
Alan Wake is not exclusive to 360, there's also on PC. This brings me to the next point (which is a matter of opinion), why should I buy 360 if I can play shooters on the master PC?
Alan Wake was originally Xbox exclusive for almost two years. It was one of the few exclusives it had. The 360s big problem is that apart from Halo, It has little to no exclusive games.

I also dislike mouse and keyboard controls which is apparently blasphemy for admitting that
I don't want to sound like a fanboy but X360 has more exclusives then you might think but alot of people never heard of them though.
May I ask what those exclusives are?
Deathsmiles (partially since it was an arcade game at first but the x360 version gets alot of extra stuff), Crackdown 1&2 (stick with the first one though) and BulletWitch to name a few.

Xbox 360 for exclusives. DS and PSP for on the road. PS3 for everything else.

Also got a laptop, but it can't play most modern games, so it doesn't elevate me to the PC Master Race.

May get the Vita for Gravity Daze sometime dont know I mainly game on the PS3 now since my 360 has died once and has hardly any memory left oh and I have to pay to play online but I go between the lot fairly regularly (dont like missing out on good games because I dont have the platform) may get the 3DS at some point as well.

I dont generally like playing on PC though feels to much like work.
