in holland, we dont celebrate christmas that much. sure we have trees and shit, but no gifts. We get gifts on 5 december, for sinterklaas.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinterklaas

check it, lots of foreigners find it funny/weird
Giving gifts at christmas in stead of Sinterklaas is becoming increasingly popular though. :/

I believe I have gotten the first season of Hetalia: Axis Powers, a new xbox controller, and a copy of Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. Or so I hope.

I haven't seen this thread yet, so I figured I'd create it.
In my Country, Sweden, we give gifts on christmas eve, so I've already gotten all of my gifts. (Suck it, Americans! :p)
So, what did you get for christmas, and were you happy about it?
If you haven't gotten anything yet, feel free to guess and then later see if you got it right.
I got the first 5 series of Dr. Who and Babylon 5. I'm very happy with that, just what I wanted.
When you're Jewish you get eight nights. SO SUCK IT!

XD Actually, I'm partially jewish (its a weird equation an geneological mapping), so I got hanukkah where I got mostly clothes and gift cards, my Native American Holiday season (I dont think my mom is getting me anything, I think she's been sending me out to make me more of a man I guess, since she got me a Hockey stick and a helmet (pads are for girls appearently), and for Christmas I'm getting a DVD player, 26 inch flat screen, and an MP3 player, as well as a Brooks Orpik (number 44 in my avy) jersey.

Two ordinary shirts, a pair of socks, sweets, and some money. Just what I needed (no sarcasm).

I'm guessing I should have opened it at night or something? I'm Korean so not too sure about such traditions.
Yeah, Christmas Eve tends to be the big gifting event.

On the other hand, you could try Orthodox christmas in early January, which has the advantage of allowing some serious gift buying during all the post xmas and post new years sales.

I got a complicated plane ticket enabling me to fly to see my family in CA for the holiday, then to my girlfriend in Philly for new years, then back to school in Indiana. It was expensive.

Two tickets to go see Iron Maiden in July. It's exciting but July is so far away. Besides that, I have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Though my keen investigative skills tell me that I'm getting Inception on blu-ray, and my favourite album of all time Disintegration by The Cure. Those boxes are the right shape, so if they're anything different I'll be hugely surprised.

Well, having some semblance of willpower, I have yet to open my presents. However, I know some of what I will be getting... the Scott Pilgrim Series, A new Wii (Mine broke D=), Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Mass Effect 2.

My Dad bought a 3DTV for the house and it came with a PS3 which is mine. From others, so far just money and gift cards but I'm having Christmas lunch with family today, so we'll see what more there is.

As a Swede, I have all my gifts too!

I got a really cozy sweater, I'm wearing it right now, a small piano/keyboard for my computer, an old school pocket watch, Fable 3 and the whole 5th season of Supernatural.

Oh, and the Sims 3 Late Night.

Not much else, I didn't wish for anything else so. XD
