I got a guinness, some comics and some ovenmits, along with The Ball from a friend on Steam.
I do love that game. I mean... you hunt ape-mummies with an ancient ball of mayan death. Do love some game-insanity.

I got me a home-brew starter kit and a subscription to my favourite magazine. My girlfriend made me a wonderful collage of heaps of pictures of us together, its awesome. A couple of Star Wars shirts, one has a pic of Darth Vader with the caption "Who's your daddy?" and the other has a Storm Trooper with "I always wear a helmet". Various fancy toiletries like fancy shower gel and fancy deodorant. Chilli biltong from my girlfriend (she's a South African expat, moved here to New Zealand when she was 6), an absolute awesome fuck-tonne of chocolate, new shorts, underwear (I needed some more) and lots of new socks (I go through them like you wouldn't believe, most pairs last 2 or 3 months). Thats about most of it, theres more but nothing that interesting for you lot.

New laptop to replace 7 year old PC, Treasures of the Beatles (book and facsimiles of rare memorabilia), Vodka, Pajamas and underwear. Possibly still more to arrive when my grandparents come over for christmas dinner, similarly aunts and uncles, but I'm not expecting anything else.

Assassins creed 2 GOTY
Need For Speed: Hot pursuit
and Blur. The multiplayer is great, but sadly only approx. 200 players are playing it. It's so good, you have no idea! Blur is now officially underrated.

Also, Jamiroquai's Rock Dust Light Star. Yeah Buoy.

Nothing since I don't celebrate it
Nothing wrong with celebration blatant commercialism & taking advantage of an excuse not to go to work & spend money. That's what Yule is all about. That stuff about Jesus & Winter Solstice is just a lie we tell ourselves.
So true!!

the worst bit is i hate being this dam petty about it. it just pisses me off that im this petty which pisses me off more and so the circle continues
Well, money isn't everything, but you kind of have a right to be petty...

Chocolate money. It was the only thing I got this year. My family has stopped to whole getting gifts thing. We all agreed we didn't want to do it any more. Anyway at the family lunch an extended family memeber throw me a bag of chocolate money and said merry christmas.

So now a group of the family had all these chocolate money. We played poker for a lot longer then we thought we would. It was great. It was a gift that was more entertaining then normal gifts and we ate it. Two gifts in one.

Awesome gift. Simple and very good.

I haven't seen this thread yet, so I figured I'd create it.
In my Country, Sweden, we give gifts on christmas eve, so I've already gotten all of my gifts. (Suck it, Americans! :p)
So, what did you get for christmas, and were you happy about it?
If you haven't gotten anything yet, feel free to guess and then later see if you got it right.
I got the first 5 series of Dr. Who and Babylon 5. I'm very happy with that, just what I wanted.
HAH! I'm American and I got my gifts on Christmas Eve as well.

A ton of books and some bluetooth headphones that have shitty sound quality which I was surprised about because my other sony headphones (non BT) have great sound quality and the BT ones were more expensive. If anything I thought bad sound quality would be due to a shitty connection but the connection is great. The BT couldn't cost much to add (hell I bought a BT USB adapter for my PC for $12). My other sony headphones are like $20 cheaper so you'd think they could make these BT ones with decent sound. Guess I'll have to spend upwards of $100 for a good pair, at least I can use them as a headset as well which will be more comfortable than my PS3 earbud headset.
