Well, if you live in Australia, you could pop by Yahtzee's Mana Bar and find out.
Case in point, here's a review of some gaming brews.

I love Blunty's videos.

Well, I can tell you an exilr by definition is a liquid which contains a high amount of alcohol. Elixrs tend to be used as mana potions, so they are essentially herbs in ethanol (approx 60%)

Health potions should differ a lot, depending on the recipie, but mushrooms seem to be a popular ingredient so go from there.

Coffee and Hot Sauce increase your Verisimilitude, your fortitude, your strength.
Alcohol fills up your Imagination, your mana, and your mind.

So says Problem Sleuth at least.

So basically HP comes from hot sauce and coffee while MP is fueled by booze.

I'm okay with that.

well... mana obviously tastes blue. blue tastes like mixing all the berry koolades together. I'd wager it had a bit of a sweet and tart taste to it as well.

of course, an hp potion would probably be a bit more earthy or natural tasting. maybe like a fruit flavored tea, but with a refreshing accent... maybe mint?

rage potions taste like code red mt.dew. but you already knew that.

Horribly. Otherwise they would be served in bars as a refreshment drink, right?

They're medicinal drinks. They either taste horribly or have no taste at all (i.e. water).
yeah this, I would have thought they tasted particularly bad. Not only because they are medicinal drinks, just the way I perceive them.

I imagine the mana potion would taste like battery acid and the health potion to taste like something along the lines of blood but with the kick of an energy drink.

The Mana potion I drank tasted like thicker, fermented fruit drink with a lot of Vitamin C.

Partly because it had sat on a shelf in Fry's for so long, it HAD fermented. It was okay, I prefer Blood, Zombie Blood if I want more tang, or Plutonium.
