Hiya escapists.

First of all, if you're male, get out of here. It said 'women only' in the title. Why would you click it? I mean, I get that curiosity naturally makes the thread more attractive, but I've made a different thread for you [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.379931-What-do-women-find-attractive-Men-only]. Please don't read or post in this thread. Go and post in the other thread that I made for you [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.379931-What-do-women-find-attractive-Men-only].
Mush.

Is he gone?
Good.

*Ahem*

What parts of a woman's body attracts (heterosexual) men has never been much of a mystery. There are for the most part fairly clearly defined areas which men's sexuality fixate on. As society has been male-dominated through history, these aren't exactly secret, and considering that the escapist's userbase is mostly male (if the polls are to be believed), it's reasonable to assume that escapists at large have a decent understanding of what men find attractive.

What parts of a man's body is it primarily that attracts (heterosexual) women though?
This is either not as clearly defined, or not as well known across the sexes.
In any case, that is why I've created this thread: To get input from the women of the community regarding what parts of the male body they find the most attractive or tend to fixate on.

Of course, this has been done before, and I'm afraid I wouldn't exactly be causing a revolution by unveiling what women find attractive. You see, the real purpose of this thread is to compare it to a different thread I will be setting up. One where I will be asking the male escapists what they believe women find attractive.
i.e. I want to see if men's assumptions about the sexier sex hold up.

So please tell us what parts of the male body you find the sexiest.
For science!

You are of course free to tell us what personality traits you like in a man and anything else you feel is relevant as well.

The eyes are tops imo.

Second is the rest of the face, cleanliness (not necessarily clean-shaven, just neat), zit free, not oily, not wearing makeup, decent eyebrows but not obviously plucked/waxed, relatively good smile (not yellow teeth, not missing teeth).

But personality can - and does - veto looks. Be funny, confident yet not dominating, lead but don't pull me. Be nice.

The eyes, usually, and the voice. I love me a British accent :3 And of course personality and compatibility. And I'm talking about, like, true love here. Long term, til death do us part, all that. Not just hooking up for the night.

We have an extremely small sample to work with here, humor us a bit with more physical preferences. [footnote]And Aussie accents > British accents[/footnote]

Aussie...no. It just doesn't have the same level of class. Well, I take that back. There is one exception to the rule...

Mmmmmm. Anyway, as far as physical builds...I guess for me anyway, it would be something like the Old Spice Guy.

Lean and a few muscles, but not over the top veiny. A bit of body hair, but not Sasquatch. And above all, CLEAN. Sweaty and oily is just not cool, including the hair. Smooth and clean hair only.

Hair. Definitely the most noticeable physical trait for me. Not really length or color or style, just how clean and taken-care-of it looks. It's usually a good judge for how well a guy takes care of the rest of himself too!

Personality wise you gotta have a guy with a sense of humor that meshes well with yours. If he's too serious or not serious enough it can be really frustrating either way.

And a nice butt is always a bonus.

I think for women more than men the definition of attractive is a lot broader, since we are much more rarely told "LOOK AT THIS PERSON THEY ARE ATTRACTIVE AND YOU SHOULD FEEL ATTRACTED TO THEM" by media and society than men are.

Okay, the fact I chop my own hair off and don't care to make it completely neat, along with the rest of my usual... sloppiness in clothing is a big turn off. Good to know.

Congratulations; you've just described me (except my eyes are more hazel). Are you sure you're not my wife, because she's the only other woman I know that digs chest hair and a goatee. I got rid of them once and was promptly ordered to grow it all back.

I totally read that as being 'attractive face, very short, no hair' rather than "very short" referring to hair. I even had a Moby joke at the ready...

I have been told many times by my female friends I'm weird so feel free to disregard my answer.

There isn't really a specific part of a mans body that's attractive it's the whole thing. The face and build. I like guys with longer hair and light eyes, and not squareish faces. I like guys taller than me (I'm 5'3" it's not that hard) but not so tall where they can't see me unless they look down. I like them toned but not buff. I'm fine with no to some body hair but I dislike entire rugs.

Sh**. But I don't wanna pour hot wax on myself! It just seems like a bad idea...

Seriously, who thought of waxing? "Oh no, some excess body hair. I'll just get some of this hot wax and pour it on myself."

A great ass in a man is wonderful for me. I also love wide shoulders and a smooth back, expressive eyes are nice as well and a genuine smile.... I tend to prefer unique hair styles. I like guys open to tattoos... I also like either taller than me or same hight (I'm 5'6") stomach isn't a huge thing for me. My boyfriend has a belly but I would never date a guy skinnier than me... it's just kinda hard on the confidence level....

After reading some of the other girls I'm gonna have to say I prefer blondes, but if I like/love who you are what you look like wont matter as much to me... except teeth. Yellow teeth can keep me from kissing you, I don't want my mouth on something that looks like you don't take care of it... that applies to all areas XD

I honestly don't like really fit guys, its unrealistic and most of those men can be total tools and a**holes.

and if we're talking fantasy he needs a head fringe, leg spurs, talons, and mandibles. ;)

I like facial hair and longer hair too, but it depends on the guy. There are lots of different kinds of attractive.

Before I start I will say that a personality will usually trump my visual preferences. That being said...

I happen to have several things that I find particularly attractive, I've found I have a thing for broad shoulders and a 'thick core' so to speak(Have a look at Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer), mostly because those kind of guys look like they would be nice to hug and get hugs from. I also love 'lantern' jaws, a good strong jawline is incredibly attractive to me. Cleft chins are cute too. I like a guy with a bit of hair to play with, not very long... Ruffle-able is the best word that comes to mind. I also like nice sideburns on a guy. I also like deep voices, but that isn't a hard and fast rule. Lastly I like guys that are clean and smell nice, he doesn't have to invest a crazy amount of time into his appearance but enough so that he doesn't reek and look a mess.

And for personality I tend to like guys that are happy, easy-going, a good listener, and 'strong' in the sense that they don't go to pieces over stressful things easily. I tend to be an emotional and stressful mess sometimes so a guy that can help keep me grounded, put up with me until the gales subside, make me smile and laugh, or just provide a shoulder for me to cry on.

Thanks to your avatar, I imagined Lil' Cal saying all this. I think I've been sufficiently terrified for the night. Now to cry myself to sleep...
