I dunno. I mean, they extended the warranty for RROD and in my experience XBL is pretty damn stable, so I dunno what they expect.
Exactly my point. I've never had a problem, when I did get RROD [1 week before the shop guarantee ran out, lucky much?] I got it switched no questions asked.
But so many people seem to moan about how it should be better.
You are the exception that disproves the rule. My 2nd 360 RROD a couple of months ago, outside it's warranty period. My first 1 never had a fault (wish I never traded it for a WII). Unfortunately, I don't have a the spare change lying around to just buy another console. Drop the price by another $150 and maybe. And don't get me started on the wrought that is game pricing, $119 GTFO here.

Key points to note:
- In 2006 the PS2 outsold the 360
- By 2007, Microsoft was still manufacturing consoles with 60% (60/100) failure rates.
The next generation of consoles is going to be an interesting fight. Fanboyism alone won't get Microsoft across the line. Sometimes it's better to get the product right than churn out shit just to beat a competitor to the market. Microsoft's just lucky that Sony dropped the ball this time around.
