A endless black void with no sound where you can see no one and hear no one only your own voice echoing, afterall humans are social animals by nature and the greatest torture would be to deprive us of that.

it looks like this

Gehenna (one of the words that gets translated into "hell" in the English language bible) actually just means "Valley of Hinnom" it's just outside Jerusalem.... kind of pretty nowadays.

the band is the burning blade, right? i really want to check this out, cause it seems really interesting. i'm in school so i can't go on the link at the moment but i want to check it out later but feel that this thread will decline and i won't be able to find it again
Band is called FireAxe. It's a one-man deal from CA that I first heard about because I searched a proper name from a work of Lovecraft's and the only results were the work it was from (a poem titled Nathicana) and his song based off of the same (he has an entire album of H.P. Lovecraft poetry put to music, actually the rerelease also includes two non-HPL pieces that are merely HPL inspired).

The album that is from is Food For the Gods. Disc 3, track 1. The album before it was titled A Dream of Death and is about, well, dreams and social control. Before that was Lovecraftian Nightmares, the previously mentioned album of HPL poetry put to music. His most recent is called Eternal Devotion to the Dark Goddess, but I haven't heard anything from it at all yet.

Food For the Gods has some of his better tracks, since the production values have improved with every album. Personally fond of the River of Madness and Black Knight parts of it. It's also better with headphones -- especially since he likes to record guitar solos twice, set one to left only and the other to right only, then put them slightly off sync.

It's just rare to have a reason to pull one of his tracks out as reference to anything, unless we're talking Lovecraft or one man bands. =p

It's basically like heaven but totally metal and less sanctimonious and boring.
Look, all I am saying is all our knowledge of Hell and Satan come from the big man. We don't get a second opinion.

Could be like fucking cake as far as the eye can see, how the hell do we know.
Meh all that we know about Hell was made up by artists and evangelist preachers. Even if you consider the Bible to be authored by God through prophets and stuff it never explains what Hell is.

I think the old testament merely calls Hell a state of being without God (which I think is why Jews don't believe in Hell like Christians) and the new testament may have correlated it with burning. In no part of the Bible does it say that Hell is definitely a place and the counterpart of Heaven.

I would think it's a land or rooms full of personal hells for everyone. Also a devil minion will be assign to each of us as the watch dog and also act as a super troll taking part in our personal hell (if you asking what my personal hell is, it would be working in a take away shop in the most aweful and fearful way).

I'd imagine it would be exactly how the Inferno described it, Dante did a good job if you ask me.

Not sure. Steve Jobs would probably be in charge.

The fastest computer would be powered by a X80 and be running Vista. There is an alternative, but it's an Apple IIe. Beyond this the desktop computer is dead. The fastest internet connection is AOL through a 14.4 modem. UPS, FEDEX and Newegg don't exist. It's a place where I actually pay for cable TV (knowing that I am paying to watch commercials).

Kinda running out of ideas. Most other things normally associated with hell seem funny to me. Yeah, it'd suck at first, but humans are adaptable. Eventually we'd get used to it.... and laugh at the new guy/girl (screwing with him every chance we get).

Assuming there was such a place, what do you think it'd look like?

Personally I imagine it as a Zdzislaw Beksinski painting. [http://www.beksinski.pl/]
That's some beautiful paintings right there, nice website too. Wouldn't expect that from a painter.

On topic
Yeah I'd say those paintings do look like a good reflection of (if it exists) hell.
