I would make these stupid things illegal, under penalty of getting your hat stomped on! I don't have anything against hats in general, just this particular type, and with the GODDAMNED STICKER ON IT! AAAGH! When I see someone wearing one, I get this almost uncontrollable urge to run over and peel off the sticker...

Yes, I am a petty, hateful woman.
The hat on the left is covered in purple walruses. How can you hate anything so inherently cute? Sure they're murderous walruses, but... walruses.

Shouting in the cinema for any reason but an emergency should be punishable by fine: equal in British Pounds to the amount of decibels each shout was, per shout.

Trolling should be punishable by having a man in a panda suit break into your house, right before your eyes, and trash your home while you watch. The panda man will not speak or do anything else. He will just trash your home and leave.

Yes, it's been done in a commercial (sort off). But it would still be funny. Not for the troll, but the rest of us, of course.

Oh. I like this idea. But only to be punished with a hefty fine.
Jailing all those snails would make this a ghost town.

Bad parenting.
I suppose there is laws against it, but they don't do anything until after something has happened to the child.
I'm sick to death of seeing parents (mainly mothers for some odd reason) scream at their child, "Shut the fuck up you stupid little ****!/Shut up or else you won't get anything!/I'll smash your teeth in if you dare talk back to me!/Get it through your thick skull that I don't want to see you!" then giving them energy drinks or cola when they're not even a year old and smacking them for not even doing anything.
Always in public. It's disgusting. At least give them a fucking warning, emotional abuse is just as bad as physical. They wonder why their kids act like cunts and think it has nothing to do with them being terrible parents. Don't have children if you can't deal with them.

My city is vile. Absolutely vile. More needs to be done to stop these fuckers from keeping children.

I'm in favor of implementing a licensing system for people who want to become parents. As for outright outlawing something, I would make it a crime to walk side by side in groups of 3 or more. Seriously, fuck people who do that. If you're with a BF/GF/Wife/Husband etc that's fine but if you're with 5 of your douche-bag friends, walking side-by-side, you should be fined at the very least.
Agree with you 1000%.
however for me, i would not allow any cases of walking side by side in groups of 3 or more.

Also screeching kids.
If a parent passes the exams and get a licenses to have a kid, they should have similar rules to a driver's license and be fined etc according to any trouble their kids cause.

I think Adultery should not be illegal at all. It would be like not telling your partner you are getting an abortion. If you want to do it it's your choice as it's your body and not theirs. I think it makes you a bit of a dick if you don't tell someone who has an invested emotional interest in you most of the time though I would consider many things exceptions such as your partner would announce to the whole town that you had an abortion in my analogy. Other people do not have any rights over your body and what you do with it. If it were the other way around then you would get into a very horrible world where spousal rape and child labour would be questionably legal.

As for things I think illegal? Rudeness. A fine though. Just for those people who like to shout at tellers about why their coupon is valid or something like that.

Homeowners Associations foreclosing on a paid off home for 800$ in unpaid dues and that 300K home at auction for 3,500 to a property management company.

In American, why is the ever allowed to happen? I work for a bank and there are so many federal regulations when it comes to lending it makes my head spin... but Homeowners Associations can put people out of their home for very petty and arbitrary reasons.

Nothing. We have too many crimes as it is. The more the government wants to lock us down, the worse we are in the long run.

What needs changing is the punishments for these crimes. Weed shouldn't be illegal. As mentioned DUI should be treated like attempted murder, and stealing millions from millions of people like Enron should be punished more than it was. Perhaps death. No, seriously, I hear China has a guide-line that if you cause enough damage to a person, one that falls near their projected lifetime earnings, can earn you the death penalty. It may be harsh in some situations, but that's what judges are meant for.

Tax Evasion.

If you go into a grocery store with a gun, steal a few hundred pounds and get caught you get 20 years to life.

If you go into a business with a smile and steal hundreds of millions (In many cases, Billions) from the government through quasi legal tax havens? You get elected.

Considering the nature of the economic crisis right now I think the UK should declare financial crimes on that scale to be treasonous. If we are at "war" with the world economy (Such terms have been used) then surely those who avoid paying tax are "Deserters"? And if they are, surely they should face the same punishment deserters faced in other wars?

By that I mean a bullet through the fucking head.

Of all the rules there are for parents who want to adopt a child, there are no rules for those parents that can just pop a kid out an neglect it. Sure there's child services but you don't have to prove income and mental stability to bring a life into the world.

What should be a crime is ultra high interest loans.

If you ever suffer the misfortune of having to watch daytime tv in the UK, you'll bear witness to a non-stop barrage of loan and debt ads, always offering the most ridiculous rates imaginable. I saw one that had an APR of 1730%. 1730%!

That should surely come under loan sharking, right? Someone needs to regulate this shit, because the kind of people who end up taking loans tend to be the kind of people too stupid to realise what the percentages mean in the first place. If only to protect these poor, desperate folk from themselves, I think these businesses should be banned outright. Fucking usurers.

Personally, I think that adultery should be a crime. Marriage involves a sacred oath and bond, and breaking it is a foul thing to do. If you're not satisfied with your marriage then seek a divorce, don't sully it with licentious stupidity.

Also, double parking. The punishment should be something along the lines of having your head removed from the rest of your body.
Marriage only has a "sacred oath" if you have a religious ceremony and incorporate a deity into your vows.

Hyperbole should be a crime.

Posting news stories without doing proper research on the subject first should be punishable by fines.

Fukushima was a good example of this. 15 000 people died or went missing due to the earthquake/tsunami, yet all the media seemed to focus on was "OMGAR NEWKLAER ATOMS ACCIDENT R CATASTROPHE HURR", which didn't kill a single person and didn't cause dangerous radiation levels anywhere. Yeah, let's halfway neglect a humanitarian disaster in favor of the fact that neither the journalists or most of the readers know what the fuck they're talking about in terms of radiation or nuclear physics.
Gah.

..any government that actually did this would be crazy rich.

My definition of crime:
Anything that inhibits, attacks, or damages a person's rights without consent by the person affected.
Leads to to anything that inhibits, attacks, or damages the populace as well.

As to what our rights are, that can be discussed. I believe what we have a right to our own bodies however, so I should be allowed to ingest whatever drug I want. If this drug is immediately fatal, perhaps I am under some psychological strain and should be helped. Most recreational drugs aren't that dangerous though.

^ This. In law. Right now. Punishment: getting punched in the face.

I think letting your kids get morbidly obese should fall under child abuse or neglicence at the very least.
No joke, this is seriously being considered in the UK!

As currently proposed, it would be only for situations where there are other neglect issues as well. So it would be treated more like an aggravating factor.

E.g. You neglect your nine-year-old child be leaving them shut in the house alone for two days every weekend. As a result of this lack of exercise (and the fact you only buy them junk food to eat) they get massively fat. Their weight would then be used as evidence of your neglect.
