Also: I find it interesting that mostly I'm getting the idea that you would prefer something basically free over material goods. Such as

A nice evening with my girlfriend: a good meal out, a starry night and perhaps her giving me a backrub followed by me giving her a full-body massage and then a candlelight bath...

Valentines Day is the dumbest holiday ever! If you need a holiday to do something special for the one you care about then you have problems. You should buy them a gift and take them out because you care, not because a sign on a shop window said so.

Luckily my lady friend shares the same sentiment, so assuming we even see each other... nothing.
