What do you want to see in the Spider-man re-reboot?

I kinda liked The Amazing Spider-Man, 1 and 2, so I was pretty sad when they cancelled it and got rid of Andrew Garfield. He had the best Spider-man so far.

Anyway, what do you want for the re-reboot? Any specific storyline, what actor you want to play Spidey, or maybe something as small as his costume or behavior. I personally want them to really show off his strength. In the movies and the TV shows, how powerful Spidey is varies from episode to episode. I want to see Spidey punching through walls and stuff. Kind of what they did with Captain America (that part in the latest trailer with the motorcycle was awesome).

I want this movie to be rebooted before it hits the cinemas, but that's just me.

Actually, is it time to give Spiderman a rest for a bit, and give some other hero/ine a go.

In the category of ideas with zero chance in hell of ever happening but I think would be cool anyway...

Make a film loosely based off of the Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions video game. Whoever the new Marvel series Spiderman turns out to be can be the main protaganist but Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield could also appear as Spidermen from other dimensions.

It would certainly benefit by having less "wasted films" so to speak as both the Original and Amazing series would then be at least tangentially tied to the all important continuity of the mainsteam Marvel films.

Huh, yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Also, I'd add an unnamed Spiderman representing the reboot that happens after this.

I'd like to see Miles Morales, played by Donald Glover, but it'd be hard to do his backstory without some setting up elsewhere. Unless they're willing to bring in Garfield or even Maguire only to kill them off.

Isn't he a bit too old for Miles? I don't know too much about him, never really bothered with his comics.

Just don't give us another variation of the same old origin story.
Everyone knows uncle Ben dies and that Peter could have prevented it. I'm not that much interested in seeing Spider man discovering his powers either.

I positied a very simular idea to that awhile ago in another thread, back when the sony/marvel deal was annouced.

To save quoting myself it was basicly, all the spiderman films upto that point had been in a pocket universe with no other heroes, created by and for the amusment of the beyonder, the amazing series reboot was the beyonder remaking his universe because he got bored of the old one.

Then for the crossover into marvel explain it by saying they found the other universe and spidey came through for a bit. Then he could bugger off back to his universe afterwards and all would be well.

Sets up nicely for any kind of future crossover's such as secret wars. Is actualy a suprsingly possible thing considering the comic universe source materiel aswell.

No Goblins please. Not that I don't love Norman Osborn as a villian, I just think the Osborn thing needs to wait a while before we redo it.

Could do a crime boss villian with maybe somebody like Tombstone and/or Shocker as a henchman. That way Parker could use his position in the Bugle to reveal the truth behind the public face. Ideal boss would be Kingpin of course but since he's Daredevil's opponent for the Netflix series I'm not sure who a suitable replacement could be.

At this point, I think it's time to give Peter Parker a bit of a rest. I liked Andrew Garfield as Spidy but I thought he wasn't an effective Peter Parker whereas Toby Maguire felt like a more believable Peter Parker but wasn't nearly as charismatic as Spider-Man. It would be great to find a happy medium kind of actor but we've given Peter Parker two continuities (two and a half if you see ASM2 as a soft-reboot) and the only other major storyline I can see coming up if you keep Captain America 3 and the Avengers universe in mind would be the Clone Saga and, One More Day events. They could be done well in film sure but, I think it would be more interesting to see someone come in to play Miles Morales. Another completely off-the-wall idea would be to say 'fuck everything in this universe' and make a movie about Spider-Gwen which I'd also be really interested in watching.

Whatever we get for the next Spider-Man film continuity, please leave the origin story at the door. We don't need another one and if we get a non-Peter Parker Spider-Man there are more effective ways of showing his/her origins...like how in Batman they kept flashing back to Crime Alley.

I don't want another reboot, heck we didn't even need a reboot of Superman in Man of Steel. The movie should simply start with Peter already a fully developed Spider-Man dealing with issues within the city, if you really want to you can include a quick 5 minute montage of his origins at the start.

Also I am bored with Spider-Man dealing with super beings in funny costumes. Bring on some neighbourhood issues like gangs, organised criminals, etc. Heck the main villain should be Fisk, The Kingpin, who is extremely intelligent while very powerful at the same time. A villain who does not need to rely on his strength to defeat heroes and instead most of the time uses his intelligence.

Have Fisk be running for Mayor while at the same time pulling strings on organised crime to take out competition, etc.

Not Peter Parker! Mile Morales is the obvious alternative at the moment but id be happy even if it was a different one (i know there have been a few other spidermen). Lets see someone new so we dont have to go through the same origin story again.

Do we really need another Spider-Man reboot? We all know his origin story so well by now that it doesn't need to be told again. I know that the last movie was so shit that I actually want the 2 hours of my life back that I spent sitting in the cinema hoping that the film would eventually get good. But can't the next film just kind of follow on from that film? But you know, make it good.

What I'd like to see is one of the previous actors return as Spider-man.
Toby was a good Peter Parker but Andrew was a better Spider-man.
Why reboot it at all? What are they going to be doing differently that they just can't do with the previous actors?

You need a touch of Louie CK "everything sucks all the time for me" kind of mood for Peter Parker and then he does Spider-man stuff and everyone still hates that too.

As for just some flat generic ideas;
The Scorpion. A proper Venom story arc would have been nice. How about a surprise death of Aunt May?
We'll be seeing a Deadpool movie eventually, how about a crossover between SM/DP?

How about a Spider-Man vs Punisher movie? That would keep it relatively street level, and would have the benefit of being able to end in some way other than death or insanity for antagonist(since he isn't actually a villain).

Just not another origin story. Everyone already knows. Spider-Man is like Superman, he needs another origin story about as much as he needs another stupid costume redesign.

No need for an origin, since he's probably going to make his full-on debut in Civil War we'll get some of the crossover stuff from that out of the way so... Personally? Kraven the Hunter. I always liked that story... Kraven comes along and "kills" Spider-man and buries him alive... If you want the whole story just look it up but it was so awesome to me that I think it would make a great movie.

I'd say skip the origin, or just do it as part of the opening credits. We already know the story anyway (spider bite, wrestling, uncle ben dead, power responsibility, etc) so just jump into him being a superhero. As for who should be Spider-man, Peter would be fine if we skip the origin bit, but if the have to tell the whole origin they should go with Miles Morales.

Or, just to screw with everyone's expectations, Spider-Gwen.

J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah. Jameson.

That is literally all I can ask for again.

Well, and no emo Maguire. I don't think that's a high bar to set..
