My poison is Ale, in england you get an incredible selection and they are usually in a pick and mix offer, where you get to taste some wide ranging flavours all of which are individual and quite delicious, they off set smoking quite well if you inhale any plant matter (tobacco, etc).

I can highly recommend trying Newcastle Brown as a mediator if you are used to beer/larger and if you are more of a spirits or wine connoisseur you may enjoy a Hobgoblin or an Otter.

Once you try you'll wonder why you wasted your time with any other alcoholic beverage

A pint of John Smiths just slides down my throat, but my favourite would be an ice cold bottle of Budweiser or Grolsch. I do enjoy a whiskey every now and then to finish the night off with.

I suppose I've become far too used to Scotland, I started reading down the list and was horrified at how many people "can't stand alcohol/spirits/etc." and then I remember "Ah yes, the rest of the world..."
To answer the question though, you really can't beat a good ale...or Glenkinchie, nothing like a light single malt to end the day.

Vodka or gin are my favourites. I can drink vodka any way, cheap, expensive, mixed, straight, s'all good. But gin's gotta be expensive and with tonic, ice and lemon.

You can't beat an ice-cold Bulmers (cider). I like beer as well as cider, though.

Not too fond of spirits at all, but I always seem to end up downing a few shots at parties.

EDIT: My favourite cocktail is ace. You just whip out a glass of any size, and mix in Blue WKD and beer. It's called The Incredible Hulk.

I'm quite partial to a double vodka and red bull, that or larger ... a bit plain but oh well it makes the Friday nights roll on quite nicely. Oh I had a "Frilly Tutu" once, it was very pleasant .. but we shall speak no more of that night.

I don't drink spirits, really. Freezer-readied Russian Vodka or Becherovka are just about all I'll drink, in that sort of class, and very rarely.

Otherwise, I'm a big fan of Eastern European dark beer, an IPA or a pint of Porter, though I drink a lot of cheap lager too, purely for money reasons. Same story with slightly rubbish blended Red wine. I really don't like White, or Rose, or Champagne, except the Russian variety, dry.

Lager, Ale when I'm in the mood, occasionally ciders, alcoholic ginger beer, amaretto, Southern Comfort and Jagermeister. Don't think I missed anything.

Beer, pretty much any good microbrew. Most notably would be breweries like Stone, Victory, Dogfishead, Lagunitas, Sam Adams, Terrapin and many many others. Favorites styles are IPAs, Stouts, Barleywines, Kolsch, Pilseners. You guys should try out the microbrews before you decide that you hate all beer. Might find something you like.

Wine gives me headache and turns my face red. Liquor? A small batch bourbon from time to time.

I never drink alone and I never socialise just as an opportunity drink. If I am with family and friends AND I am having a good time then a pint and a half of 3.5% (cider, lager, whatever) is enough to get me jovial yet retain composure.

Usually I drink diet soft-drinks in all other circumstances, in the evening when I have my dinner I wouldn't have a beer, just a soft-drink or juice.

started out in my teens as a Whiskey drinker. That went a bit wrong for me as you'd imagine and I stopped drinking for about 4-5 years, when in college I started again and moved in slowly, starting on 'alchopops' or 'pisswater' as we call it in my town. and slowly moved through cider (which really IS piss water) to Lagers.

Which I have happily stayed for about a year now.

My drink of choice right now being: Fosters.
