My opinion? Modern medical science is too blame. Why? Because we cant rely on the theory of evolution or survival of the fittest anymore. So all the idiots not only survive, but procreate and ensure that the future will have more idiots.

In response to your question: what is wrong with the world? Me

You get nothing if you pick up on the quote.

My real answer would be: Sin.

It depends on your worldview, really. From an atheistic perspective... I don't know, just that some people are stupid or something I guess. From a religious one (monotheistic, at least), humankind is flawed, and you are seeing examples of sin nature. I personally think that one makes more sense, so I'l go for saying that humankind is inherently good, but fundamentally flawed, and those who don't know or don't care do stupid crap like this for whatever their messed up reasons are. There are many different reasons, but ultimately it comes down to a flawed sense of morality and purpose.

My two cents, anyway.
just touching on the aspect of humans being good, we actually are neither. if you strip away the laws and rules us humans have created then there is no right or wrong, it comes down to instinct and survival. Only the smartest and or strongest survive.

and how exactly is the Large Hadron Collider stupid and going to destroy the world?
Well, it's already destroyed the frames on this page. Imagine how much more power it will have after it is allowed to expand even further.

There was something about ripping a hole into subspace and consuming the world or something, I'll admit, I didn't pay it much heed.

People today are the same as people 1000 years ago. Violent and dangerous. The only thing about today is that as a society we've broken down so many taboos that more and more things are "acceptable." That and we have a society infested with idiots who love nothing more than consuming intoxicating substances and going on stab-happy rampages. And people look at me funny when I say I'd get rid of them all.

Well, in the U.S. the median IQ is 100, which means that half the population has a double-digit intelligence.

case in point http://www.baconnaise.com/
Is this a real product?! If it is then I think it's a work of art and I wish to swim in a vat of it.

On topic - It's human nature that anything that can be done, regardless of how bloody daft it is, will be done by someone eventually. Usually with the reasoning 'for a laugh' or 'because I could'.
That's kinda a fake statistic. The IQ system is calibrated off of standard deviations, with 100 as the median. To say that half the population posesses double digit IQs is almost technically accurate. But it's an indicator of how the number is generated and calibrated, not really a statement of intelligence.

See though, that's assuming an atheistic point of view: in that case, you are right. If, on the other hand, there is in fact a god who created the universe, then whatever he defines as right and wrong is, in fact, right and wrong. He would have created the world with a certain natural order, both in scientific and social ways, and straying from those ways would be considered, by definition of the one who created us and everything else, wrong, and thus wrong within the context of the universe in which we live.

Not trying to disprove you with religious ideas, just presenting the difference that makes the idea of good and evil viable within the context of a religious worldview.

Modern medicine allows anyone, not just the genetically fit, to survive. This puts stupid and dumb people on the streets. Those stupid and dumb people watch jersey shore all day everyday and don't get any intellectual value whatsoever. Q.E.D.

I don't think that people as a whole have gotten any dumber. Any look through history will show you some of the crazy ideas and opinions people had throughout the course of Western civilisation. History is filled with douchebags.
It may perhaps appear nowadays that there are a lot of stupid people, but looking at failblog isn't really a representative sampling method. The internet means that now if someone gets a stupid tatoo in Australia or marries a pillow in Japan, then you can hear about it in whereever you live. Its not that there are more stupid people, but you hear about them more than ever.

I think some people act stupid just to stand out, while others are just unintentionally stupid, like these two

Its true that stupid people are stupid, that goes without saying. That is not the problem though. Stupid people on their own aren't particularly hard to deal with or that troublesome. What really causes the trouble is when the stupids get organized. This you can see often with religion. Now anyone on this forum who is religious and thinks I am insulting you ask yourself one question. If I disagree with you am I a sinner who deserves to burn in hell? If you didn't think so then I'm not talking about you. I talk of course about idiots like the people who protest at military funerals because they hate gay people; or people who believe in the Timothy Plan which takes a stand about "morally reprehensible" games. By "morally reprehensible" I mean that the games do not conform to the groups bigoted little mind frame.

Strange... You know what it is, but you don't know that there's a chance that it can make black holes. Uh, just so you know...Black holes are bad. Like [S]crossing the streams bad[/S] crossing a million streams at once, bad.
What's wrong with the Black holes? I like black holes. OOOH I get it. it's because they're BLACK isn't it? Seriously though, they already turned on the LHC. It didn't make black holes. Nobody expected it to make black holes except conspiricy theorists with not even the slightest idea of how the machine works.
