Just sharing for all. 1830-1940 is pretty much my favorite era in American history.kapzer said:Thanks for the enlightenment, dude. I'm a bit rusty on my American history, although I studied it for two years :/Vek said:It's named for the Oregon Trail to the northwest United Sates, and you could start in the East for a harder and longer journey, but the real ORegon Trail started in Independence Missouri, and progressed west through Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, and finally Oregon.kapzer said:It ended there sir. Started on the East coast. It was all about the trek from the east to the west - pioneers, were they not?
You and I are both very ancient. I remember those days.thiosk said:When I see topics like this, I can't help but think how god forsaken old I am.
I remember oregon trail when it was NEW.
It was on an apple IIe, and it did not have colors like that. It was bright phosphor green and black.
And thats it.
Oh that brought back such loving memories. I left such amazing epitaphs myself I am sure the young children who followed enjoyed it.Trace2010 said:I especially liked it where the game could save your tombstone...then other players playing on the same disk would be able to pass it. My epitaph cussed out the player almost every time (one kid got detention for it-though he didn't type it- it showed up on his screen right in front of the teacher).
Some of my favorite epitaphs (cleaner ones of course):
1)Here Lies Beavis- He Never Scored (yes it was a rip-off, but still funny)
2)If you are reading this- get a life.
3)I gave up my day job for a &^% job and left with neither.
