Your poll appears to have exploded. Nevermind, I'll improvise.
To start with - yes, there is a grand plan here - I would start with a technological-fantasy world which is a bit errrm...odd. Where to begin? The elves are actually scientists, the dwarves wear heavy armor only to increase their superhuman agility, the humans are...awesome, and things like orcs and trolls are only as evil as anyone else can be, given their nature.
More importantly, there are actually two apparent main-and-unassociated actual villains at work, both of them equally dangerous in the end. One is head of a country which has been harnessing the power that nearly blasted the world to smithereens...and the other is Garlock The Destroyer, the mad warlock who is essentially Richard and Deadpool rolled into one. Even then, Garlock's the sane one...and nobody knows what the hell he IS.
The game would feature the perspective of different characters, though who the main character is depends on who you want to center around. The only time the hero-types - and some of them may not be heroic by nature - are actually the main is when you get a part of their story to crop up. They all have stories to tell and differing abilities to make use of. And you'll probably need them all.
After that, assuming there was no sequel, I would branch out into the dimension I created this world to be a part of: The Dark Dominion.
