Any game that's not a platformer, FPS, 3rd person shooter, Skateboarding game, rhythm game, or racing game.

First Person Shooters... Well... maybe I don't "suck" at them so much as that I don't like them so I've never really put a lot of hours into practicing them. Which, sadly, means that whenever I DO try to go online and play them I get owned by snotty little 14 year olds who cuss so much they make sailors blush. Which immediately bounces me back into playing games of any other genre.

Fighting games and music/rhythm games. I suck at the former as I just button mash and have absolutely no interest in learning combo's etc. I never liked memory games. Especially not $100 ones with no story.

And music & rhythm games I just plain old suck at. As I mentioned I hate memorising shit for games an therefore I play it by eye. And for some reason I just really cannot get anywhere. I can hit some notes but make it more than easy and I'm up shit creek without a canoe.

I also tend to suck at PC shooters... I was playing MOH beta today and boy was I awful! I am much better at console shooters. I'm far more used to them, and anyway I don't play online much thanks to slow and capped wireless shiternet. Yeah, I live in Australia. It could just be that everyone on there were CoD veterens though which wouldn't surprise me.

Most rts games I just get really annoyed when i've spent a while building an army and base just for my enemy to destroy it...then i have to rebuild it all again!! (i know that is the whole point of the game to destroy the enemies base and faction but it gets tedious...especially if you suck at it)

I'm not absolutely horrid at fighting games, but that's probably the only genre I'm significantly worse at. But I'm working on it! Or, at the very least, attempting to work on it.

Finally started playing my copy of Tekken 6, and plan on buying Super Street Fighter IV. I also own Blazblue and Guilty Gear. I s'pose we'll see what happens... *fingers crossed*

Racing games. I just can't figure them out. Especially, the 'walls come at you fast' part. If you add weapons in to the mix I'm doomed to always get last place.
Hooray, I'm not the only one! Imagine my... joy... when racing sections are forced on you in Jump & Runs (evil stare at 1st Sly Cooper game). Needless to say I'm absolutely lost when it comes to games like GTA. Forced myself to train a bit in Saint's Row 1+2 because everything else in there is pure fun.

Also: Multiplayer. No more specifics needed.

Mount and Blade: Warband. Not singleplayer, mind you, I've already helped overthrow one kingdom and am well on my way to starting my own, but multiplayer. Everyone else seems to have better hit detection and responsiveness than I do. Of course, I got a little bit better when I realized the combat speed setting also applies in multiplayer, so was in fact moving slower than everyone else. I still suck though, and the fifteen seconds of life followed by five minutes of waiting for the next round to start make me ragequit pretty frequently.

Hmm I'm pretty good at pretty much every game time (though GREAT at none, I'm a jack of all trades). I feel I don't do well with RTS games, Especially the faster paced ones. People say I'm not bad at them online, and I can have a pretty Mean early game but I get really flustered quite quickly, and procrastinate on how I'm gonna tech up and then just generally fail.

Came to a fairly awesome game in SC1 where I came up against a dude WWAAAAAAYYY better than me in 1v1. Him Toss, me Terran. I said F-this and Turtle in my base. Mass Missile turrets, Marine Bunkers and Siege Tanks. Even his best efforts where thrown off until he managed to nuke (about 10 nukes >.<) my outer defense (he mind controlled my SCV). And so I lead a Suicidal charge with my tanks and Marines (which I pulled back in time). Annihilated his Army abut his base defense finished me off....

.............What was this thread about again?

Real-time strategy games. I just get too emotionally attached to my buildings and units. I think you have to be pretty ruthless and coldly rational to be good at these kinds of games. Moreover, I'm fairly rubbish at multitasking in general, so that doesn't help.
This. I have a tendency to retreat as i dont want any units to die. But i can handle multitasking to a degree.

The Total War series. Love the concept, love watching people play it, get smashed when I play it. I probably just need to practice, but I inevitably rage quit, haha.

I'm probably bad at the genres I don't play, but as I don't play them I don't have a clue.

Everything that requires monkey-like agility of fingers. Which is...everthing these days. From FPS shooters (at competitive levels) and RTSs like Stracraft 2.

Turn based games, where did you go ?!

No matter how good a gamer you are, there must be some games that you cannot get to grips with no matter how much you try.
What games will you never be any good at?
For me, it's Metal Gear Solid 3 and 4. I know they're not that difficult, but for some reason I can barely get past even the first few people without being seen and shot up. Yep, I suck. :)
Metal Gears 1 and 2? Breezed through them and didn't find the harder modes that much more difficult.
As in... Competitively, or what?

If so, then strategy games I never quite manage to get my head around, that's not to say I'm not competant, but the efficiency RTS players have mastered is just beyond me.

If not, I can't actually think of any, I'm relatively competant in all fields, with occasional strokes of both retardation and genius. (In FPS' however it would mostly be the former, so I guess I'll choose that)

Edit: Fuck that, never mind. Mine is racing, all the way, I do not care for it at all, I only enjoyed the Burnout series, splitsecond for a brief period of time and one other game similar to Burnout.

Counterstrike.

I played that game nightly for 5, 6 months, and just never got the rhythm of it. If my roommate wasn't sitting next to me, playing it religiously, I would never even have stuck it out for that long. Absolutely, hands down, the most unhelpful community of gamers I have ever met. I tried many different servers, looking for an environment that I could describe as "not poisonous". No request for help ever got anything but ridicule. I'm sure plenty of you guys played it for ages and would disagree about this - I could have just had very shitty luck.

You get extremes to be honest, but I'll give you that you're definitely right ratio wise.

Currently playing Darkfall and I have to say that after surrounding myself with this community and not much else I forgot how stupid, hateful and unhelpful people could be. =/
