I used to love this show.


Coolest thing ever next to DBZ. Kai was a badass. I had loads of the toys, they were cool.

Now I see the new ones.. and what. They look crap, like the ones you get out of a cereal box.. ;s

I recall seeing one episode and having a good laugh. The only thing it needed was flashing yellow capital letters:

Beyblade is about little spintops. Pokemon is about this:

Goddamn dragons. Fuck yeah.

But both are beaten by awesome battle robots. I want a battle robot. Now.

Woah, you're right, they seem sort of shorter. Weird.

OT: people didn't like them mostly because of the massive disconnect between the show and toys.
Pokemon and Digimon had card and videogames that were pretty much simulations of the things from the show, beyblade was just spinning tops yet the show has like giant monster stuff.

I found a bunch of songs from the Beyblade soundtrack on youtube and it made me nostalgic, but I can't find my old ones. I started watching Beyblade again on Youtube, and Medabots. So much fun.

Just remember to watch some of the show before nostalgia'ing over it guys. I recently saw like, a week's worth of Ultimate Muscle and... wow, it's bad.

The idea of children trapping deities in spinning tops and using them to win spinning top
tournaments was just too ridiculous for me to swallow as a kid. I still watched it though; Beyblade was part of the after-school program on the channel I used to watch, and there really wasn't anything better to watch while it was on.

Beyblades were great, I wasn't into the show as much. But Medabots was sooo good. And these shows literally blew my 10 year old mind:
I can only find the music which is pretty sad, I loved that show.

OT- I think it started sucking. I don't really remember that much, but I think that it was just a little too far beyond my willing suspension of disbelief as well. Sure, the fate of the world can be decided by a children's card game, but battle tops? That's just ridiculous.
