There is hope in the fight against some the bs humans have unleashed -

"May" and "could" help with some of the symptoms. Though, better than nothing, I guess.

How depressingly observational George Carlin was -

He truly was a genius. I'd say "ahead of his time," but let's face it, there has never been and never will be a time in human existence where we were/are/will be collectively ready to hear the tacit truths. He'll always be too serious for those who don't take life seriously, and too unserious for those who take life too seriously. I'll just say he was a genius, and I'm fortunate to have lived at a time when he also lived and entertained.

This is why YouTube is a wonderful thing for those who haven’t. Especially for live music of bands/shows that have come and gone.

Also, massive thumbs up for those putting up videos from yesteryear. Loads of historically important, or at least interesting stuff would have been hard to come by just a few years ago.

During WW2, people in the US seemingly were unable to do anything without a short film being made explaining what they were doing and why, often done to a high quality, and often in the form of an entertaining drama (cause Hollywood was supporting the war effort). All that stuff was probably forgotten until fairly recently.

Rest in peace, Pope Francis. He was an amazing humanitarian, and humanist. I disagree with his views on abortion and parts of his social conservatism. But he was genuine, tried to do the right thing according to his beliefs, compassionate in a way few are, and a real role model for men everywhere religious or not in philosophy. He genuinely cared about people even if it wasn't in his self-interest. If I had five people who weren't in my family, and friend circle that I would give the radical life extension to he would be one of those.

And yes my high school Argentinian Spanish teacher knew him.

I didn't know him but my girlfriend met him back in the day when he blessed her school as a bishop in BA. He was generally well-liked and "progressive for a pope", for what that's worth.
