What if Pokemon were real?

What if? would we have some sort of PETP(people for the ethical treatment of Pokemon)? Would there be pokeball laws kind of like leash laws? Would making them fight be considered inhumane like cockfighting? What do you think?

I think what seperates Pokemon and real wilflife is the majority of Pokemon have human levels of intelligence, some exceeding that of averages humans. So capturing them alone may be an offence, it'd be a much stranger world. I suppose we'd have to work around it, and the world would end up very much like the anime if considerably less interesting and infinitely more bleak and crime ridden. As per usual.

Fighting with them would probably come to be legal with time once we grew to understand there nature more, since Pokemon can choose to fight and don't actually kill one another. However again unlike the anime I feel there would be more accidental fatalities and some purposeful ones. Also if a pikachu playfully zapped you you might end up dead. Reality is full of little dissapointments.

They would be far different from the animals we have now however. A pokemon can tend to fully understand a humans instructions, and we to an extent can understand them in turn.

Can you imagine what schools would be like? There would be like, one year out of your school days where you could just up and leave and go on a Pokemon adventure. Pokemon Battling would be an elective class, and a lot of classes would be Pokemon based. The school monitors would just use their pokemon to round up kids, instead of just.... doing nothing. Or better...they would BE pokemon.

There would be like a rule against Pokemon battling in school or during class or something like that. But it would be effing awesome. Just gotta make sure people don't steal your pokeballs.

Except it'd be more like the games, where Pokemon are more like animals, and not like the anime where they're sapient.

If Pokemon were real, there would be a group if people against the 'cruelty' towards them in forcing them to fight one-another. So yes, there would be a PETP.

It comes from Pokemon, but the kids in the anime never are revealed to that fact 'lest they lose their precious innocence. However, I do remember one episode in the series, in season 1, where Ash was eating a deep-fried Magikarp... or something that looked like one.

We'd have to take drasctic steps to get rid of the Pokemon they are horrible creatures and should be exterminated, I mean humans living in peace with animals that have extraordinary powers and attack you in the grass.
