It will look good from start so you wont be disappointed but by the end you realize it sucks like every game bethesda made since Oblivion.

Then we get to have a good old fashion riot with pitch forks and torches.

On the serious side, well there is still BF3, MW3, LOZ Skyward Sword, and three months later ME3. Sure it will be disappointing if Skyrim sucks, but there will be plenty of other games to soften the blow unless they all turn out to be disappointments.
I really don't see how anyone can put more faith in a shooter with very little creativity over something that honestly tries to be original. Don't get me wrong i own a couple shooters but now a days i flip through a magazine and all i see are shooters shooters and more shooters, I'm fps'd out... so even if skyrim DID suck which i by the way think it won't. I'd STILL play it rather than stare down another iron sight... /rant
You know things are bad when you're referencing a high fantasy RPG as original.

I guess I'd be pretty sad since I just bought a new computer to play it on.. But I doubt it'll suck..

My fury shall be beat out like a thousand war drums, as I lead forth a legion of gamers to take the entire state of Maryland by force and hold it hostage until we are given a game that lives up to the hype!

Since there hasn't been a good Bethesda game for YEARS, I wouldn't be so surprised. The only good thing I can see it doing is making good technology available to a possible, another, Fallout game by Obsidian.

No matter how bad it will be, wait a few months and the mods will make it a better experience.

What will I do? work on fixing it. I've made mods for morrowind, oblivion, and fallouts. As long as they didn't screw the system up too much, it can always be fixed. That's why it is difficult for me to hate a bethesda game, it can always be fixed. Even then, though, I have yet to experience these "masses of bugs" everyone talks about in bethesda games. I've found some issues (all of which were addressed by mods), to be sure, but nothing to the extent that people are making the game out to be.
Compare that to, say, MW3. If it sucks, too bad.

Suicide rates would rise, cats would become dogs and vice versa, and Bethesda will have a lot of apologizing to do.

lol

Given all the hype that's been built up for Skyrim, screwing it up and making one of the biggest bombs would probably be a good blow to Bethesda. There's no way they could possibly make this horrible.

... Though if it does, then I'll just say that Duke Nukem has a contender for Most Disappointing Game of 2011.

Not gonna buy it anyways; so this doesn't affect me.

But yeah, get Saints Row 3 or Halo Anniversary instead. Those will definitely not suck.
Halo Anniversary is so-so. The multiplayer felt really sluggish compared to Reach.

Awful in the way that people describe Oblivion or awful in the sense of Vampire Rain?
If the first, I will still love it.
And as for the second, I love Deadly Premonition. It'd have to do everything so poorly that it was actually unplayable for me to dislike it. I mean. The game would have to be unplayable. I seriously doubt (at the very least) that the exploration aspect would be any worse than Oblivion's (and I personally love Oblivion).

I still play Oblivion entirely unmoded and find very few game ending bugs or horrible travesties (although I have run into plenty of bugs, glitches, and freezes) that everyone talks about. Mods are great, but I have never played a Bethesda game so broken that it couldn't be enjoyed without mods.
My sentiments exactly. I really don't understand how some people would snob Skyrim just because its Nexus portal doesn't *yet* have a leveling system overhaul or unofficial patches and somesuch. If the game isn't flat-out broken on release (and I doubt it *could* be broken), then why wait? I played Oblivion without mods for weeks and had tons of fun with it before realizing you could add or take stuff away almost at leisure. I never encountered game-breaking bugs, either. I kept hearing that Fallout 3 was a mess, and yet I only started having trouble with it once I bought and installed Lookout Point.

I consider Halo Anniversary to be doomed. It has the Master Chief in it who is the least likeable character since Jason Vorhees in my opinion.

OT: Bethesda's entire reputation rests on this game. If it's shit, nobody will remember Fallout, Morrowind or Oblivion, it'll be "Oh yea, Bethesda. They'e the guys who fucked Skyrim up."

I'll laugh at all the people who've spent the last half a year going 'OMG GAME OF THE FUCKING YEAR!' when it wasn't even released.
