Okay, so I've noticed this past week that nearly every other thread is, " is SOOOO not as bad as everyone says."
This sort of irked me. I mean I get defending a game you enjoyed, but why are people so eager to blow this trumpet that something they enjoy is good or even great? There's no such thing! It's all relative. I don't give two craps what a reviewer or friend thinks. It might sway me to look more into a game if someone tells me they enjoyed it... But no way would I ever take someones word on the quality of a game, without at least looking it over and trying it myself!
So I also notice that biggest counter (and main argument for that matter) to lovers and haters of one of these games are the sales. (MW3 is the one I'm basing this off of.)
Why is it that everyone also thinks sales = quality?
I scratch my head over this every time. Some awesome things sell well, yes. But so does some really awful crap.
It's especially hard to take it at face value when something just recently released. I mean, how can sales within a week speak to the quality or "good-factor" of something? Just because a hundred million people went to see twilight the day it came out, didn't mean it was an academy award winning drama right?
Someone explain this to me @_@!!!!
