Make a Nether Portal?

OT: I think Minecraft needs some better kind of control over how Nether Portals are placed, because you never know where you're going to end up when you make one. That can be a hassle.

I would like to see some more tools for people to develop adventures I made a maze complete with traps, however it wouldn't have any effect to have someone run it. Now if I had something like script blocks to work with it could be epic. Blocks you could skin as any other type of block - or even leave invisible that you could controlling the trigger of and have it do one specific thing. Something like moving other blocks, etc. Nothing extreme, just a few this you cannot do now. Add in trap doors and the ability to craft half blocks, I might just love the game.

Vertical redstone circuits, trap mechanisms and better ways of transportation, be it submarines, gliders or balloons.
Plus more variety when creating the worlds. I'd kill for the possibility of a deep-sea world without having to get out the editor and cut a square into the ground.

I thought that's what sandstone was made for.

It's lacking in fun. Honestly, I got bored of legos when I was twelve so the only enjoyability I can get out of the "game" is trolling servers with friends.

The only thing missing, is you! =D

Minecraft will always be missing the one key component I need to make the perfect redstone device =(

I know people have already mentioned mounts, but what I would like to see are pack mules. You could make saddlebags by crafting a treasure chest and a saddle and then putting it on an animal which would then follow you around. Then you could have a train of pack mules to carry your resources around.

What it needs is to be free because it's well below the standards of a priced game.
Since when? Personally I'm astounded that he's selling it for as cheap as it is, I think it's worth a fuck of a lot more than the $21 he's pricing it at right now.

Indie games are pretty much MEANT to be free.
... no, no they aren't. What gave you that idea? Since indie developers are taking a huge risk jumping into this industry, and they put all their time and money and effort into making things that most likely won't sell too well, if at all, I think it makes much more sense for indie devs to charge more for games ... I mean, every developer starts somewhere, so how many video games would we have if nobody ever expected to make any money from them?

The Mo' creatures mod allows you to tame horses but it's getting updated at the Moment.

Scuba gear combined with an underwater flashlight for underwater building. It's next to impossible to make really big underwater bases as the game already is. Also, on that matter, it should be easier to look outside of glass when it's underwater.

Vehicles would be sweet, especially if they were made of components that you could assemble to make custom stuff - just like lego :]

Wider variety of mobs that attack in different ways - under water hostile mobs, flying mobs, mobs that can tunnel through soft materials, mobs that camouflage themselves as leaves in trees or mushrooms or whatever to get the drop on you as you harvest. Just to keep things lively in your day-to-day adventures.

Randomly generated dungeons and surface structures - perhaps as an option so you could still have a pristine world if you wanted.

In fact, more customisation of the world you generate would be nice - someone's already suggested options for deeper oceans, but controls for the various biomes distributions would be nice, as well as the variance in height and rate at which height changes, and prevalence and nature of tunnels - eg, long or cavernous, branching or linear, horizontal or vertical. Completely random worlds are wonderful and all, but a tailored world, with the random constrained to trends you want, would be fantastic.

I ended up thinking of a few ideas for some new items:

An Item Cloaning Machine - Obviously, have it made from some very rare matirials - maybe a box of diamond and obsidian, with some redstone in the middle. Have it powered by redstone, a bit like with coal and a furnace, but the ammount of redstone needed is rellitive to the item - say, 1 redstone could clone 8 pieces of coal, but you'd need maybe 10 redstone to clone 1 diamond.

A Cyrogenic Prision - Maybe a box of iron with some glass in the middle. Pretty much like a bed, but minus the chance of waking up with a zombie bashing your face in.

A Telepor' Teleporter - I know, I know, we have the Neather, but wouldn't it be nice to not have to wander through that place? Like the cloaning machine, have it made from very rare matirials - a piece of diamond between a U shape of obsidian, maybe. Have each one link to every other - so say you placed three of them. going into the first build would take you to the second, second goes to third, third goes back to first. I think it could work.

To be honest, there really isn't that much missing from it - you could very well sell it as a full game as-is, or at least I think so. Of course, since it's still in Beta, it gives us a chance to surgest new ideas and solutions.

I'd really like some system of getting rid of excess materials. After a lot of mining the majority of my inventory spaces seem to be filled by cobblestone and gravel and i'd rather not have 50 chests sitting around full of rocks.
Just get a bucket, fill it with lava, dig a one block hole, fill it with the lava, and drop the crap that you don't neeed into the lava from the inventory screen (from the inv screen click on the stuff and click outside the inv box)
