I nominate DYATLOV PASS!

The lack of eyewitnesses and subsequent investigations into the hikers' deaths have inspired much speculation. Investigators at the time determined that the hikers tore open their tent from within, departing barefoot in heavy snow. Though the corpses showed no signs of struggle, two victims had fractured skulls, two had broken ribs, and one was missing her tongue. According to sources, four of the victims' clothing contained high levels of radiation. There is no mention of this in contemporary documentation; it only appears in later documents. Soviet investigators determined only that "a compelling unknown force" had caused the deaths. Access to the area was barred for three years after the incident. The chronology of the incident remains unclear due to the lack of survivors.

Seriously. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyatlov_Pass_incident]

O internets, making a thread like this while a violent thunderstorm ravages the comfort of my home...

Here are some of my inclusions to this topic

Antarctica.

Seriously, all kinds of creatures down there like the Old Ones and Shoggoth's...

Cookie for reference.
mmm 8-bit theatre?
I think not. At the Mountains of Madness, however...Interesting things you can find beneath all that ice.

Let me introduce to you (who don´t know it yet) Centralia, Pennsylvania: A town still on fire, subterraneously. Not only is it mostly abandoned and spooky, it´s also quite hazardous.

Anywhere that's got a very low population or is abandoned. If there are less than 75 people in your town, then never expect to see me there.

When I was younger I went to a friends birthday party at an outdoor centre in Woodbridge. It was at and around the old air force base at Rendlesham a place with some history of UFO sightings in the 80's.

Being around all the old rusting hangers in utter silence with no-one around, that wass pretty freaky.

The basement of that creepy guy across the street. You all know who I'm talking about...
Nah. I've been in there dozens of times. It's no big deal. You just have to be very quiet, and if he comes back while you're there don't leave until he's been asleep at least an hour. You'll be fine. Trust me.

Okay. That's weird. Not enough info, really, and not an easy place to go and poke around.

Also this is another likely ghost having candidate. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poveglia]
Sounds like Shutter Island (I've only seem MovieBob's review of it.)

Cheung Ek and Tuol Sleng deserve their mention.

Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum is probably a little creepy.

I think it depends a lot on the person and their particular cargo of phobias.

Dark streets?

That babysitter and angel statue story from the scary thread?

Displaced canebrake rattlesnakes?

Old graves?

The snow beneath your feet suddenly collapsing into a cloud of fine powder, dropping you down a slowly-tightening crack in the ice until you become wedged a hundred metres below the surface?

Being watched by sheep?

Bats?

Spiders?

Spinning moths?

Bubonic plague?

Haemorrhagic fever?

How about this?

there's an island of dolls in Mexico and the thing about them is that they're to represent the little girls that die
That's perhaps one of the freakiest things I've heard. Could I get a name or link to it or something. I love to creep myself out :D.

OT: Well, I was going to say Prypiat, but I'm sure you guys can out do that.
here you go you get a nice pic of a doll as soon as it opens http://cakeheadlovesevil.wordpress.com/2009/04/18/island-of-the-dolls/
OHSHITBADMEMORIES.

My vote for scariest place
I have a friend named sky. she had this junkyard-ish place behind her house. we LOVED to run around there. all sorts of weird stuff you find. A BB gun, for example.

then we found DOLLS. DOLLS AND DOLLS AND DOLLS.

we found a doll head covered in SOMETHING RED and we no longer explore that place.

What makes you say that? 4 Chan is way creepier.
I actually spend some degree of time on /b/, so I sorta know what you mean. I was just parroting cracked.com anyway, since that seemed to be the source for the original post.

My vote goes to Aokigahara Forest [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aokigahara_Forest].

Its an incredibly thick forest at the base of Mt. Fuji that also happens to be Japan's favorite place to kill yourself. There are tons of bodies and nooses all over the place as well as signs trying to discourage potentially suicidal people. Officials have to do sweeps for corpses to at least try and keep things under control but the forest is so big and dark that they miss some. There are many unnoticed bodies just hanging around.

Be warned. Disturbing pictures of dead bodies beyond this link. [http://usagiyjay.wordpress.com/2008/09/19/bosque-de-aokigahara/]

So what do you think is the creepiest place on Earth?
Yeah, I read that off of Cracked. My vote goes to the Sedlec Ossuary. Also shown on cracked.
