The name explains it, what is the hardest thing you have ever had to do in a game, it could be a certain mission, song or award, it could even be an entire game...

For me, it would have to be in Timesplitters, the first game, going in to hard story mode and trying to finish that damn mansion level, me and my friend had to map all out, i mean all out, down to the last spawning point before we were able to beat it...

What are yours...

Alright, then when I rolled 1 and 3 in an Acrobatics roll in D&D. My dies love me. Basically, it looked like a jumping session from Prince of Persia: T2T.

Certain parts of COD 4 on Veteran, and Gears 2 on Insane - both campaigns are pretty easy, but there are certain parts where the developers just spiked the difficulty curve.

Ahh, Timesplitters 2 on hard. Man were there some really difficult bits on that game. I just remember NeoTokyo being so hard, having to follow the woman to the base without her or anyone else spotting you.

Me and my friend had to do a similar thing and map everything out, down to every camera movement and every time that stupid woman would look back ver her damn shoulder :\

Beating all the cheat times in Goldeneye - except Facility 2:05 I've seen a video of someone doing it. Pah! Looks like machina.

I'll second this, but i've done it. I bypassed the follow, by dropping down the street and waiting for her in the sewer, though.
Some of the Timesplitters 2 Arcade and Challenge Platinums were well tough. So i'd probably put that on my list. Haven't done them all though...

On Timesplitters: Future Perfect I couldn't get past the massive Splitter monster in the church - I know if I beat him i'd clear the rest of the game. Irritating. Maybe I'll revisit it.

Jagged Alliance 2, 1.13 mod, on insane difficulty. Clear the drassen mine from the horde. I swear, I killed so many enemies their corpses no longer appeared because the engine just couldn't handle any more, and still, the sector had 30 or so enemies in it.

Ironic thing; in that same game, the drassen mine ran dry :( . Man, I was pissed.

Rock Band 2: Visions by Abnormality on Hard/Painkiller by Judas Priest on Hard
Rock Band 1: I dunno. Run To The Hills on Hard maybe.
Guitar Hero (Series): F'ing Lou Guitar Battle on Hard. Still haven't done that.

Too right. Although I relished those parts because a friend and I were breezing through the game. I enjoy having my arse handed to me because it feels so much sweeter when you do get past it.

On Topic: Probably completing Sin Episodes: Emergence with all of the difficulty sliders up to max.

Now that is a feature that needs to be implimented into games, when you start it gives you some difficulty sliders. I've forgotten what they were exactly but I believe that it was the overall difficulty of the game, and another that allowed the game to change the difficulty if it felt too difficult for you (100% meant that it didn't change it for you).

If this was more padded out then it could impliment enemy spawn numbers, damage caused and received, ammo pick up frequency. The list is endless.

(I realise that Goldeneye did it but you had to complete every level on every difficulty to unlock it, which I feel detracts from its usefulness. The amount of people I mention 007 mode to who have never heard of it is endless.)

My dies love me
really mine hate me, so much so that i spun the die (it had rounded edges) it bounced once, twice, then stopped dead on a corner (kinda creepy) everyone was like well WTF does that mean??!? this would have to be the hardest thing i have ever, done, never to be replicated again,

The hardest difficulty on Far Cry 2. Every encounter was dreaded, in the end I had to drop it by a level. The difference was massive.

Oh, so this a "brag about yourself" topic.

Answering the topic: certainly a multiplayer match. A battle in Dofus Arena vs Midterm (nearly a year ago I think) comes to mind: an expert player that had a way better W/L record and rank then me when we met.
The match became an hour long thriller with me being at a permanent disavantage through almost whole the match. At the end I got a positioning advantage (he was cramped into a corner) despite him having more characters alive and more hp. The match ended in a true cliffhanger: I remember having but 1 character (started with 5) alive when the match was finished with certainly not more then 10 hp (starting with 65).

I still have no idea how I won that one, but it was certainly "hard".

The best games truly are those were you're at a disavantage 99% of the time but still win with a tiny difference.

You must be the only one.
I seem to have the worse luck, 3 times in a row I rolled my die and they ended up on a corner... how does that happen!?

1 and 3... wouldn't that leave you all, splattered and what not?

If we are going to include D&D I would have to say the hardest thing I have ever done is trying to sit through a single combat round doing that in an online 'table top' environment. Two hours later the fight was still going on because... our virtual dice hate us so badly. Long story short everyone, including the monsters, kept rolling so low that no none seemed able to even hit the other.

One of many reasons I quit DMing. The sole reason that, to this date, I believe dice are evil manipulating beings that get a kick our of tormenting poor players... oh... 'froooooommmmm spaaaacceeee....'
