HL2:Ep2 - Defending from the strider siege
Thank goodness for quicksave :)
Not in the 360 version.
You can save any time you want in HL2 on the 360, it's very useful for some of the more irritating sections (like the toxic tunnel)
I know. But there's no Quicksave on the 360. So it breaks flow a tad.
It sure does. But hey, it's better than jumping over all those damn wooden wheels and shifting them around with the grav gun again...

Spyro 2: Gateway To Glimmer.
Having to follow that bloody fellow to his "secret" hideout to get an orb.
It was so frustratingly difficult. There were a number of other ridiculous activities in this game, but this was definitely the hardest.

finding Maria
, when the bloodmounts and therons attack you from both sides and in comes a grinder just to make it even harder...
Yeh, I spent a long time on that one too. Still can recall the experience or rolling out of the way of the bloodmounts like crazy when I was caught out of cover and was one stray bullet away from certain death! In fact, I think I ended up just having to settle for rolling and roadie running my way to victory eventually! :D

Ha nice... I found the Gorgon pistol to be a life saver here, stops them nasty bloodmounts in thier tracks therefore avoiding one hit kills on Dom!

Attacking the patrol near the beginning was also a good idea as you could then use the boomshield against the bloodies.

The entirety of I Wanna Be The Guy.

Though in re-playing it, I got through the Ghosts and Goblins spike cavern on my first try.

if not that, getting the unbreakable achievement on easy WITH BOTS. they tried to heal the last 5 min of the map when i didnt wield my first aid kit out. but i did, and did my first crownd on a witch.

Veteran difficulty on CoD WaW... I got to the steps of the reichstag. (right after you leave the house basement.) Took an hour to get the checkpoint at the destroyed tank.
took me a month(literally) to get past that checkpoint and complete the level.
I'm never doing it on veteran again.

I don't remember a specific match, but sometimes my clan in Unreal Tournament 2004 - being about division three, sometimes two - plays versus a division one clan. The difference in skill is often quite high between divisions, and most of the times we would have been hopelessly outmatches. On a few occasions though, through sheer determination, willpower and ultimate awesomeness, we managed to capture one or more flags from the enemy base!

Me being (well not any more, I don't play that often nowadays) the primary flag runner, I had to pull of some pretty crazy stuff, and making a couple of very lucky shots and dodges to manage to come home. At those moments I feel such an elation that I managed to pull it off, and not to forget a pride of my fellow team mates that they managed to keep me alive, and keep the flag in base. Those moments are truly epic.

After such a capture, it doesn't matter if you lose 25 vs 1 (# of flag captures) in twenty minutes. The knowledge that you made one is enough to make your day.

I win! When I face Psycho Mantis in Metal Gear Solid, I missed the tip that tells you to switch controller ports and I had no internet to find a FAQ, but I still managed to beat him.

Mass Effect is also ridiculously hard in some places if you play on the Insanity difficulty, especially with certain character classes/party types. There are some enemies in particular, like Krogan, that not only have massive amounts of health, but also are able to become invincible for several seconds, regain all their hit points upon death every 60 seconds or so (meaning you have to kill them a minimum of two times), and can kill you with one or two melee strikes and have a nasty habit of charging you. There's two parts especially, the first on Therum and the second on Vermire, where due to either their numbers or environmental conditions, I had to fight them a good 20 times over just to win... oh, and don't forget the unskippable cutscenes that happen before those fights. Thanks, BioWare.
Oh gawd, I remember that. Fucking Krogan. Or trying to use the Mako. Such bad controls but it was pretty fun to launch off the top of a mountain with no fall damage. Fantastic game.

Anyway, getting 1000 GP in CoD2 and 4 (fuck you Mile High Club), still trying 3 and Ive just given up on WaW until I get 3.
Being one of the top 300 hundred snipers in CoD3 a month or two after I got the game.

Mile High Club on Veteran actually isn't nearly as hard as people make it out to be, at least on the PC where you can aim and shoot a good deal faster. It really pays to use a bit of stealth, as the terrorists won't shoot at you if you duck behind the seats, and instead will focus more on your teammates. It's still quite hard, and I died probably a hundred times, but once you've got a good strategy down it's only a matter of time before you get it.
